Paperwork

"Oh my! Stella, you have already done that much?" the duchess gawked at the paperwork Stella finished. She had done three inches of paperwork while the duchess was getting a facial.

"Of course, Mother. I am eager to help you," she beamed.

"You've gotten even better over the years," her mother praised. "Let me do the rest. Go and rest in your room," Duchess Amelia said.

"No, Mother. You are the one who should rest. I'll do these for you. You should get some sleep to lessen the dark circles under your eyes," Stella purposely mentioned.

The duchess was conscious of her appearance so the dark circles under her eyes actually bothered her.

"What?! Stella, did your mother get so ugly these past three months that you have to do all these for me?" the duchess was teary-eyed.

"You are still beautiful no matter what you look like. You are my mother, after all," Stella beamed and the duchess perked up.
