Jealousy Can Get You Killed

Gabriel was outside with Patricia and Hershel when Rick, Shane and Lori approached them.

"Gabriel, what is this about Shane you needed to speak of?" asked Rick.

Gabriel looked at him and then Shane and Shane stepped forward.

"What happened on the school?" asked Gabriel calmed, way too calm that it unnerved Rick and Lori.

"I.. I already said what I had to say, Otis gave up his life to save me and Carl"

Shane looked anxious the more he stood in front of Gabriel, everybody can see that Gabriel's presence is making Shane nervous, and not just them, everybody was, except for Patricia who felt warm around him.

Gabriel sighed, he turned to Rick and said "Listen, Rick. One of these days you might wake up and your woman and kid won't be there anymore, or you just won't wake up. I called you here because I wanted it to hear it from his own mouth, Beth told me everything he said and Otis was not suicidal, he loved his life too much to just give it away like that" Said Gabriel putting Patricia in front of him, Patricia tensed because she is right now feeling his bulge on her butt, she glanced at him but he seems to not realize it yet or just don't care, not like Patricia would move or tell him.

"No one would wanna leave a woman like this behind, believe me" said Gabriel grabbing Patricia's shoulders, making Patricia feel a jolt of electricity run down her body almost letting out a moan. Patricia knew she was thinking wrong because of the conversation Gabriel is having with Rick but she can't deny her mind and body around Gabriel, Gabriel is overriding everything of Patricia and she didn't care.

"I guess what I'm saying is, I have my eye on you Shane. So watch your every step" Gabriel voice sounded cold and made his sentence known to all present. It wasn't a warning, it was a promise and Rick had the idea that Gabriel would kill Shane if he slips... again.

The only reason why Gabriel didn't kill Shane in front of them right away, was because people would doubt his actions. He came after the funeral so poeple would be against him but it didn't mean that Shane was just going to roam free.

"So... Shane. I believe you have something to say to me?"

Gabriel stare deep into his eyes, and to Gabriel knew those were the eyes of a man in love and a murderer. He knew that look, Gabriel took his first kill against that zombie, but that first kill was just using his raw strength, he's killed before, more than any one could ever imagine, and that was why his file was a top secret in the army. He had two identities, one was a regular super strong soldier and the other one... was the one very few people, after all a body count of 9,567 is no joke.

But Gabriel never accepted any job where the victim was forced to follow orders or was innocent and the higher ranks couldn't well do much about it, since they had tried before, they tried to force him once but it ended in headless corpses and bloody mess. He was too much to handle and if this was to reach news than people would talk that was why his files were encrypted and only certain people knew about it.

Gabriel knew when there was an innocent man in front of him and right now now Shane was.

Not

"I already told you what I needed yo say!" said Shane and fastly walked away.

Gabriel never took his eyes off Shane's back until he was no longer in sight, he sighed and looked at Rick again.

"Listen, Rick. You are a good man, but that doesn't mean your buddy is. You know your friend better than me, would he kill Otis to get out alive?" Gabriel left that question into Rick's head and he knew Rick would do the right thing... eventually.

Rick wanted to say Shane would not do something like that... but deep down he had the feeling he did something to Otis, that night he came back, it changed him and Shane had seen death before but he came back wrecked, but still, being his friend he refused to believe it and now there is someone who is very suspicious of Shane and he couldn't defend his friend because in the end, not even him was sure anymore.

The only one who knew Shane killed Otis was Lori, because Shane had confessed to her last night, but Rick wasn't told about it but was suspicious so when Gabriel mentioned they needed to talk about Otis, both wife and husband tensed.

Rick nodded to Gabriel and left after Shane, he needed to know.

...

Hershel had to go take a drink, today had been a very eventual day and he needed to be drunk to not feel much today.

....

"I'm telling Rick! that guy is crazy, he is accusing me of something I didn't do!" half yelled Shane to Rick as they were both alone arguing.

"Then tell me, why? why haven't you been the same since that night?"

"Why have you been avoiding that subject, Shane"

"We need to have a mutual understanding here, we are hosts and they need to know they can trust us and you acting all anxious in front of Gabriel just made him more suspicios"

"Rick, I told you already we could stay in this place, look, abundance in lands to plant, water. Carl and Lori needs this"

Shane was already on edge and started pacing around.

"Shane, you are not saying we'll take over this farm. What about Hershel, the people living inside are good people" said Rick.

"You are right, some are good people, the problem is that fuck, Gabriel and Hershel, he is just an old man"

Rick frowned hearing this "Listen to your self Shane, you are talking about killing people! you've changed, you are no longer my friend from back then"

"Well, we all change, and this world has gone to shit, we can't be thinking like back then anymore, things have changed and we... I was the one who's made it possible for Lori and Carl to be here, remember? you were on a hospital bed while I was busting my ass off for Lori"

"Lori depended on me, not you, you weren't there, Rick... I am the better man for Lori, if only you wer-"

Rick punched Shane and both started exchanging punches, until Lori and T-dog separated them.

"What the hell is going on here?" asked Dale.

Shane spat blood on the ground "Nothing!" he said and left.

Lori went to Rick's side "What happened?"

Rick looked at his wife "He kept talking about you, as if I was no longer here"

Lori looked at Rick and shame was evident on her face "We need to talk... about Shane and I" she said in a low voice.

Rick nodded already guessing why, after all Shane practically confessed right now and they both went into a tent, after 15 minutes of talking inside the tent, Rick came out angry, sad and happy.

Now he knows why Shane was acting like that, Shane loved Lori and now Lori is pregnant, Rick couldn't blame Lori about it, because in the end Shane had lied to her and told her he was dead.

Rick was angry beyond anything and looked for Shane, once he found him.

Rick told him they needed to talk, Shane refused but Rick said it was about Lori and Shane nodded and grabbed a gun from a table when Rick wasn't looking.

They both argued again and Shane belittle Rick about being the better man for Lori and Rick lounched forward wanting to end this, but Shane pulled out a gun and pulled the trigger.

*Click*

Shane shocked quickly checked the gun and saw it was empty, Rick crushed that Shane didn't even think about it just stab Shane after taking advantage of the shocked Shane.

Shane gurgled on his blood and stared at Rick, Rick fell on his knees and started crying unaware that a turned Shane stood up and stumbled on Rick.

*Puchik*

Rick looked up from his hands and saw the face of Shane in front of him and freaked out sliding backwards but there was a sword in between Shane's eyes.

"Guess, I was right about asking Dale to unload all the guns" said Gabriel cleaning his sword.

Gabriel extended his hand to Rick who took it and lift him up.

"How? did you follow us?" asked Rick.

"Yes, I knew Shane would do something stupid today, he looked like the impatient guy to do something so I asked Dale to remove the bullets from the weapons, Dale of course didn't know why i asked him to do it but something tells me he wouldn't have deny either way"

"You saved me" said Rick grateful.

"Well, Dale also saved you, he didn't like that was Shane was acting lately so he didn't think twice to remove Shane's bullets"

Rick nodded.

"I'm sorry you had to do that, I could have done it myself but If I do something rashly then you guys would be all over me" said Gabriel.

Rick nodded again absent minded a little, Gabriel seeing this, pat Rick's shoulder and let him go back.

Rick turned around and Gabriel waved his hands "Go on, I got this"

He nodded and went back while Gabriel looked at shane's body. "Yeah, I'm not burying you"

Gabriel grabbed Shane and took him further away only to widen his eyes at the sight of hundreds of walkers roaming around.

He sweated 'If Shane had shot back there than they would all have been atracted to the sound'

Gabriel left Shane's corpse there and went back to the farm to let everyone know.

Gabriel looked back and they seemed to not have noticed him but it was only a matter of time before the zombies started to wonder too close to the farm.

Gabriel sighed 'I should have known, we need to move on'
