No words at Three

On the island, Pria, Same thing was happened in a village but on a bigger scale. Blue is the daughter of the village chief and the chief organized a feast on the whole village. Blue has always been his treasured child after he lost his first son. Others say otherwise. The villagers sees Blue as rather strange. From the moment moment she was born, she never cried. A year passed and the second. She didn't cry show any expression. She never speaks also. She didn't played with other Children neither does she wander around like  Cacia and Aeral. She was always by the river looking towards the horizon or in her room.

Her mother, Eli found it very strange for a little girl and she always thought her child wasn't normal like the other kids aside her white hair and lashes. While her father, the chief of the village didn't care. Whether she was normal or not never bothered him. The most important thing is that he had a child. That is the mindset of a father that once lost his child.

The villagers also sees her as a curse. The chief once had a son but he drowned years ago when he went for a swim with his friends which was unusual since he could swim well. When Blue was born, the healer made it known that neither the chief or his wife can concieve even if the chief lays with another woman. The villagers saw Blue as a bad luck to the whole village but they couldn't do anything as she hadn't directly caused any harm. This even made them more wary of her. An old woman thought otherwise. She was exiled from the village after she foresaw that the chiefs' late son would die. The villagers then thought she cursed the chief so she was exiled far away from the village.

Blue's birthday was approaching, and the old woman smiled as she sat on a rocking chair. Its been three years now has it? She said.

Back at the house. The chief sharpenee his spear and other tools. He was preparing to go huntony for acquatic beast for Blue's birthday. Specifically, he is after the blue eyed salmon. It is known for its aggressive nature and its size hence it's only eaten on special occassions. It is over four meters long and it has white scales and blue eyes. It is used to prepare one of the special dishes in the village.

"Are you sure you want to go after that beast?" Eli questioned worriedly.

"Come on. Tomorrow is my daughter's birthday and i want to do something very special for her. This fish would be the best for this occasion i promise." Chief put down his spear and held Eli's shoulder with both hands.

"Isn't throwing a huge party for a dumb child special enough?" Eli rolled her eyes and the chief ignored her remark. "Don't you ever bother what the villagers would think. Going this length for a child who can't speak at three, doesn't make any expressions, Nevers plays and act like children her age. Aren't you hearing the rumors that she is actually cursed and you want to throw such a huge feast tomorrow." Eli queried.

The chief frowned and turned his back on her.

"That is why they are rumors. Even if she can't speak or act normal her age, aren't you happy that at least you have a child and you heard what the healer said. She is your only child Eli. Even if the whole village is against her. As her parents we should stand by her no matter what. And that is what I'm doing. One day she'll open up to us and besides..." He paused before he went out.

"The healer never said she is dumb. As a mother you should draw her closer and try and make her more comfortable with us than for you to actually scorn her. He said and walked out. Eli sighed as she sat on the bed.

The chief walked to the west of the island where the beast is mostly found. The beast is found right after the reef. He entered a boat and went towards the reef. Blue came afterwards. She looked at the boat drifting slowly into the ocean and frowned.

Luckily, when the chief crossed the reef, he saw a huge lily salmon. This one was almost six meters and he was quite glad that he carried a larger boat. He held his spear which was mixed with a special poison and he aimed it at the head. The fish seemed to sense danger and it immediately attacked instead of running away. It headed to the tail of the boat and it bit it off. The boat began to sway and it continued attacking the boat until the chief fell into the water. The fish bit his leg and continued to drag him deep into the water. A minute passed and he was still going down.

Meanwhile, Blue watched all what was happening from the island. Her face showed almost no expression. She later walked back towards the village. When Eli saw her, she attempted to hug her but when she saw Blue's face she couldn't. She couldn't pretend that she loved her. She went ahead to the direction the Chief went and when she got there, she saw his body on the shore.
