I woke up covered in sweat, breathing heavily with watery eyes. It was still dark and the fire was still crackling away. I had no idea how long I've been sleeping. The horse stirred awake and walked towards me, lightly nudging me.

"I'm okay, big girl." I pet her muzzle. She sniffed and breathed on my face. With my sleeve I wiped the sweat and tears from my face and sat up. I had no memories from when I was younger, so that dream brought up a lot of questions.

'Was that woman really my mother? What happened? Who killed her? Why were they chasing us? Why did they call her a witch?' The questions went on and on.
