Chapter 96: First Day of Spring

I squinted and blinked my eyes open to a bright warm light in my face. I was in my room in the castle, with the sunlight beamed in through the open window. My fingertips prickled like it was being crushed and my palms were clammy and sweaty. Looking down, Renaud was once again fast asleep in a chair, and resting his head on the bed.

Reaching my hand over, I lightly brushed his hair out of his face. He had deep creased lines embedded into his forehead, but he looked so peaceful and calm, asleep.

'Oh sweet, sweet Renaud, what have you done to me? How can such a frustrating man make my heart flutter and melt in so many ways?'
