Focus (1/2)

Rowan waited until he was certain Wren was actually asleep, then carefully scooted toward the edge of the bed, moving slowly so as not to wake him. Luckily Wren had yet to lock him in place with his usual tangle of arms and legs, so it wasn't too difficult to make his escape.

He felt a twinge of guilt for not staying there by Wren's side where he would much rather be, but he needed to do this now.

Wren had already focused more than he should on the splinter, when he really needed to focus on resting and staying present while Rowan did all the work. It was best to remove this particular distraction altogether.
