Titania wads through the running waters of the river towards the dead, naked bear. It's pink wrinkled flesh partially submerged in the water with the other half in the air. The waters despite their force are unable to move this massive beast.
As he moves forward the water freeze his legs, sending chills through his body. This slows him down a bit but he still moves forward the bear. He plans to drag it on to the bank of the river and do his best to cook it. As for how he would start a fire to do so... He'll know when he gets there.
The rushing waters are loud in his ears and the shivering coldness of the water dulls his senses even more. Unbeknownst to him just behind him bushes were rustling.
It was not Ajax, for he was told just to monitor him and he knows that his dad prefers a strict translation when it comes to orders. In fear of what would happens if he were to go against what his dad said, he maintained his distance from Titania and watched from afar, never getting too close but never losing sight of him.
Soon someone emerges from the bushes with a blade in hand, their steps sound softly on the forest floor. They didn't bring a gun in case that the sound of the discharge would alert the facility, however seeing that the Target has a gun it was their own blunder. Their face can not be seen by the average man as it is obscured by a layer of cloth, thin enough for the wearer to breathe comfortable but thick enough to no one to see through it.
They have been tailing Titania through the forest as soon as he was out of eyeshot of the facility. Now was the chance to strike! He was alone and by himself. He must be hungry and tired for them watched the entire time, seeing Titania never stop to take a break or eat. But it would be foolish to attack now. They would wait until the target would leave the river and let down his guard.
The mission that they have been set on is to capture the target. However the target must be alive, not in one piece. The capturer already came up with a plan in mind to make it an easy mission. They would first disable his ability to move by cutting the patellar tendon, it the muscle in the human body that is responsible for the ability to raise the knee. They would slice at least one but if the target would still be able to move enough to get free then they would slice the other, making them unable to run away or even walk without months or years of rehabilitation.
Then after slicing away the targets ability to walk then it would move onto the targets ability to make sound. Under normal circumstances the capturer would just stuff the targets mouth with a thick object and then tie a cord tight enough to keep it in place, for if you were to stuff something into the mouth the person could just spit it out. However, after seeing the target kill the bear with a special powder that came out of its mouth they wouldn't be taking any sort of chance after what it can do. The capturer would probably stuff his mouth to the point of making it almost unbreathable and tie several strings around his mouth and jaw to keep it shut.
However, they would like to collect a sample after seeing what it can do to a bear, imagine what it could do to the average human.
But they wait in silence for the perfect moment to strike and capture as Titania wads through the rushing water.
When Titania finally got to the bear's body he felt a sense of reward; he was able to get a source of food that would last him for multiple days. Now was the more difficult part, getting the bear out of the river. Now that the bear was dead it would be more difficult to carry it as the weight would be thrown all over the place. However with his new found strength from the infection, carrying it would be significantly easier compared to a regular person doing so.
When Titania submerged part of his body to get his hands under the bear's to make carrying it easier. He struggled, not from the weight of the bear but rather from the size. He struggled to get his arms around it into a comfortable position.
When he finally got his arms in a spot where he can easily carry a notification sound rang through his eyes and then the panel appeared in his vision.
[Emergency Mission!]
[Description: Survive against the Capturer/s! They are waiting for you at the bank of the river. Conditions to clear the mission is to at least disable the Capturer/s. Any means to do so is accepted]
[Reward: Class Talent (Unique)]
When Titania saw this a quick feeling of fear shot through his body. The water which he was growing numb to started to feel cold. The bear's body felt heavier. However after this quick moment of weakness he realized that he had a possible for him to complete it.
He tapped around his body to find the gun that he was given. Once he knew where it was, he was thankful that it was dry; if it was then the gun could jam itself, might rust, or the bullet's gunpowder could get wet making them ineffective. Knowing this he came up with a quick plan. Well, what he would do when he meets the capturer.
Seeing the system completion conditions, he would choose to disable the enemy. He would then interrogate them for answers on who they are, what do they want, why him, etc. The usual questions one might as if they were going to be taken by force. This was the first time that they system warned him of something.
He already had a faint idea. They could be from countries that are enemies or some private organization. But alas they are just wild guesses.
Titania, bear in hand, walks toward the riverbank.
He drags the bear out of the water and away from the gentle ripples that it produces. Titania then find's a rock that seems flat and comfortable that's near the carcass just incase wild animals come scavenging for a meal. He then finds a place to sit and relaxes.
Or he appears to. Titania's plan for catching this enemy is to appear off guard and tired in hopes of luring them out of their hiding spot. He hunches over putting his elbows on his knees to support his suddenly tired body. In a wonderful act of tiredness he fakes a yawn.
Still even in this act of tiredness he still must be prepared. He checks with his eyes where his gun is, thankfully dry. After that he then cup his hands to his mouth and created another sporous grenade. Just one, if he was being watched and created many grenades then they might suspect something and not follow through.
When the remaining sun only had two more hours of life left he hears a rustle of leaves and twigs behind him. Titania doesn't check behind him, for he is worried that they are too far way and might flee but still he waits. Soon the rustle stops and is soon replaces with the sound of feet disturbing dirt.
Now is the time to strike! He quickly gets ups from his faux rest and reaches for both his pistol and grenade. Then he finally sees who this capture was. They were dressed in camo colors that matched the forest surrounding them, parts of the wild life sticking to their clothes, their face covered in paint, and their hair slicked back. No one could guess who they were, how old they are, or their gender.
Their eyes widened a bit in surprise but then sharpened to focus. When they saw Titania reach for both of his weapons they started sprinting to close the gap. They had many years of experience of fighting, it was common knowledge that only a fool would try to use a gun in close combat, nonetheless a grenade.
Seeing them start sprinting at him Titania shot quickly at random at the quick moving target. They started moving in a zigzag pattern to make it harder for Titania to properly aim but eventually a bullet luckily lands. It landed on the shoulder and shot through the body, leaving a clean exit wound.
They flinched for a moment but still moved forward, tanking the wound. When Titania saw that they flinched he quickly prepared himself to throw the grenade. But by the time he could throw it they got close and knocked out the gun and the grenade out of his hands.
Weaponless and knowledgeable to know that while he does know some form of fighting he is horrible at fighting close combat, he quickly jumps back to give himself some space. After all, he only knew how to do kicks and doing so needs space.
He makes a side kick aimed at the enemy's stomach staggering them and making them take a step back, giving Titania ample space. He then prepared to do a round house kick to the head but they were able to dodge by under his leg. They landed a punch on Titania's ribcage, knocking the air out of his lungs. Titania staggered for a moment, his hand clung to his side to comfort himself but the enemy wasn't nice and dashed forward.
They grappled Titania, they reached for his waist and pushed him to the ground. They got on top of his body and put all their weight on him, preventing him from moving his torso. Their fist raised high above their head. Their hand comes down like a meteor falling from the sky. Preparing to pound him while he is on the ground.
And suddenly stopped, their fist hovering above his face. But Titania can tell that this was against the assailant's will as their fist strained, shuttering in resistance as some invisible wall prevents them.
Seeing that their hand can't follow through they then swing their other hand, aimed at Titania eye. Only to stopped again by that imaginary wall. They try to bring back their hands back to their body but their arms and hands didn't budge. Their hands seem to be stuck in air, unable to move. Their breathing started to quicken.
Their eyes seemed widened in fear. Their breathing turning short, quick and faint. They swung their body from side to side to free themselves but could budge from their spot.
Titania himself couldn't move as the assailant's weight was still on top of him. He struggled but gave up seeing that they couldn't move as well. However he started worry when he heard a third person start walking in their direction. The sounds of disturbed leaves, dirt, and small river stones grew louder as this mysterious person grew nearer.
Soon the person stopped and picked up a rock that was a bit larger than his hand but still able to comfortable hold. They then walked behind the assailant, still on top of Titania. Rock in hand and hit the back of the assailant's head.
The assailant passed out, their body slumped on Titania's body.
