Chapter 55

Michael raised his eyebrows, waiting for Randolf to tell him what was so serious about it.

"Your father wants to see you, Lord Crawford."  Randolf announced.

"Oh, right. Thanks, Randolf."  Michael answered and went back to looking at his papers.  But the butler didn't withdraw, causing Michael to look at him again questioningly.

"Sir, it is urgent. Your father, Your Grace, the Duke of Windsor, wishes you, My Lord, to go to the castle immediately."

Michael understood that Randolf wasn't just there to deliver a message, but to make sure the Duke's orders were carried out.

The young man got up with a sigh and followed Randolf out the door, heading towards the Carriage that was already more than ready, waiting for him.

The trip was reasonably short.  Michael felt that his father was calling him to fight with him.  He just couldn't understand why.  Louisa and he had been behaving.  Not even going to corners for stolen kisses.
