Chapter 113

Louisa knew she had to keep in her right mind and stress too much would not only not help Michael, but also, be a bad thing for the baby.

"Do as you see proper, Mr. Rochester. But know that I am not happy with that arrangement." Louisa said while she was holding her husband's hand, without really looking at Simon's face.

"Don't worry, my dear Duchess. I promise you that I won't be a disturbance." He was still near the doorway, now, leaning on it with arms crossed. "May I help with anything?" he asked.

"No. Thank you. For now, Randolf is here with me."

"I see. Well, I'll be near, if you ever need my help."

After some time, Randolf went out to ask for food for Louisa. Simon could have been a gentleman and see to it, but he didn't want to miss the opportunity of staying alone with Louisa.
