Grayson
For how many nights he dreamed about his most precious girl and nothing compares to the reality as she sits in his lap, the softness of her body making him hard enough to groan out loud against her ear. Her skin is so hot it's almost scalding but her touch makes every nerve ending in his body tingle.
He kisses the nape of her neck and inhales her sweet scent. She smells like the strawberries and it brought back memories to those days when they used to hug in greetings every time she saw him.
Even he hated it at first, he started to love it over time. Now it was a blessing and curse when he thinks about his best friend, now being dead because of him.
"Gray? You okay?" He snaps back to reality when he hears Aurora's concerned voice as she brings her hand to his cheek. The touch from her burning him to the core, still hard to remember the last time someone touched him so gently.
Darkness smiled inside, loving her touch too much to resist. It made him throb, dark but lustful images appearing in his mind as he takes her over and over again.
"I'm fine, just thinking," He whispered as her hand left his cheek and his heart ached, it's been a while since he heard her speak without cursing or growling, not since their meeting from yesterday.
She looked at him for an answer but instead found something else, something that gave her chills down her spine. The darkness in him made him look sinister sometimes so he knew why she is looking at him like that. If she stays with him, he will not hesitate to take her, even it's against her will.
If you do it, she will think you're a monster.
The thought made him cover his mouth as he chuckled, the sound startling her as she jumped but one move from her made him growl as he gripped her hips tight and gave her a look.
"Better don't if you not want to be on your back and me on top," Grayson warns her. The way he said that made him realise what he's doing; she knows the darkness has taken over him but doesn't know where this is coming from. She's still afraid of him though.
Aurora nods before taking another seat next to him, his arm immediately going around her waist as she leans on him.
He didn't know how much more he can take. The darkness keeps telling him not to hurt Aurora but deep inside, there's part of himself that wants to do it anyway, no matter what. He feels guilty but doesn't let her see it as he leans back in the chairs and just stares at her.
It's weird how the darkness kept whispering to him all these years, giving him advice that never seemed to go well for others but somehow working its magic on Aurora. The fact that he was willing to do anything for her makes him feel like shit, he hates himself for letting it happen. But he does. He would die for her and he'll gladly kill anyone who tries to come between them.
"I miss those days when we used to go stargazing under the skies at nights. It was a time I would go back and rewind the way we talked about most random things. I miss our funny jokes but most of all I miss him. I want him back," Aurora whispers, thinking about her brother. She misses their talks about everything and nothing; the simple moments when everything felt right and perfect.
His grip around her tightens as the darkness growls, wanting to protect her from whatever he's feeling, it hurts him. The pain he feels is different from the pain she feels; his emotions were more raw than hers.
He had no idea why he suddenly felt guilty, or why the darkness told him to stop hurting her.
Aurora looks up at the window where the bright stars were setting in the sky, the moon already up and shining through the window.
"I miss him too." Grayson says softly.
If I could, I would go through hell and heaven, just to bring him back to you but I was too late, I couldn't save him when you both needed me the most.
The painful truth angers him so much that he stands abruptly from the chair, knocking it backwards to the ground.
"Damnit,'' cursing out loud, he punches the wall near him and tries to calm down but it's hard when you know everything has fallen apart.
Before the scared girl can ask him what's wrong, he sharply turns around, his back facing her.
"I need a shower. Don't go anywhere. If you do, you will not get far,'" threatening her against his will, Grayson forces himself to leave her before he does something stupid like ; beg her to forgive him. He knew he fucked up once more but his emotions were all over the place, he couldn't bear to be with her when his control snaps. It would surely hurt her.
Grayson took one last look at her then walked away with heavy footsteps. His whole body aches with the weight of guilt that won't leave him alone. He's glad they are finally free from the nightmares, they have time to heal and he will make sure she never has to worry about danger again.
The rain was pouring outside as Grayson stood beneath the shower head.
It reminded him of their time on the beach, the warmth of her body, and the sound of her giggle, his breath stopped when he realised just how long it had been since she laughed. Real laughter.
Now he just hurts her and scares her. Nothing more. How can he keep her when all he does is hurt her? How can they stay together like that?
His thoughts are interrupted by the sound of the bathroom door opening and closing, he looks up and finds Aurora standing at the entrance of the washroom. She was in the same white bra and panties she wore before and Grayson's eyes instantly travel down to where they rest on her feet. She was barefoot.
"Can I join you?"
She sounded vulnerable and broken and it tore Grayson's heart.
"You don't have to, go to bed," his voice was harsh as he turned off the water and wiped some drops of water from his face using the towel outside of the shower stall, the glass stained from the hot water he used, giving her a little glimpse of his bare inked chest.
Aurora stepped closer as she watched the muscles in his chest flex every time he exhaled. He was such a sight to behold in the moonlight. There's something different in his expression. No anger, no sadness. Just tiredness.
Her stomach flips and butterflies erupt everywhere as she watches him, it reminds her of all the times she' s seen him so worn out but still fighting for something. Something she isn't quite sure about but that just makes her crave for it more, for him.
"I'm sorry..." she mumbled, tears forming on her eyes as she bit her lips.
"For what?" His voice came out hoarse and raspy, still trying to pull himself together.
Seeing her half naked was a torture for his mind when darkness pictures her without anything, giving him sinful thoughts.
"That I made you angry. You suddenly changed and I don't know why," her lips trembled.
"I'm sorry."
She moved closer to him and wrapped her arms around his torso as she buried her head on his wet shoulder, the heat from his body radiating to her, bringing a shiver to her body.
He froze, unable to understand how she is able to reach her goal with her touch alone. It' s the reason why he wanted her to touch him, to make him feel better. It wasn't supposed to feel good when she touches him but he can't deny it, he enjoyed her touch, loved every single moment of it. It made him forget about the darkness inside of him.
He hugged her tightly, wrapping his hand behind her neck as he pulls her closer to him, inhaling her scent to calm himself down.
"No, don't apologise. I should've expected it after what happened today, but it still caught me off guard. I... I missed you Aurora. I really, really did. And now, I just want you back and safe," He kissed her hair softly as she rested her head on his chest.
"Me too, I really do.", He felt her nod her head and smile, it sent him a surge of happiness that she's here, right beside him.
"It just...the voice in my head. It wants to do things I shouldn't do. Especially to you," he admits a while later.
He was surprised by himself how easy it is to admit those things to her, he thought it'd be harder to say this out loud. But he feels lighter now that she understands and accepts his darkness for herself. Maybe the only way he can deal with her and protect her is to give her something in return.
"Do what?'' Aurora asked curiously. She felt something stirring inside her, making her curious. She wants answers.
"It wants to hurt you, Aurora. Hurt you, scare you, break you...but most of all, keep you to himself, to me."
She looked up at him confused. "What? But how? What can possibly do that?"
He smiled at her innocence before answering, "Because you are mine and there is nothing I wouldn't do to keep you safe from harm."
"How did that voice even become a part of you? I don't understand," Her words confuse him but not completely, he knew the voice was something darker than it should be.
It wasn't the first time it appeared, it just grew stronger since then and was always telling him things he wasn't allowed to do. It's like he has forgotten what it means to be human until he sees how caring Aurora is, how caring everyone is and how protective she is of the people who mean the most to her.
There was a chance she would reject his feelings and it's going to destroy him if that happens.
But there's also a chance she might feel something similar towards him. She said she loves him but what if she only loved the boy from the past and not the monster he was now?
