Ch 13:- A Beginner Martial artist

This is my first time writing a fighting scene so pls let me know if there is any improvement that could be made.

~Continuing Ch 13~

"The next pair, Rayne Talen, and Kim Atureo the arena."

As Rayne and his opponent Kim where heading towards the arena he could now finally see his weapon which was a black leather fingerless glove of some kind with a green gemstone like thing at the center as Rayne was in close proximity he decided to use his observe skill.

'Holy shit! is there even a chance of me to win he is a karate expert which means he atleast has 12 or 15 in his normal strength without any buffer and he now has a 4 stats worth of buffer which means I will lose for sure let's see were I stand in comparison to him,' Rayne was now panicking internaly after seeing his stats and skills.

'I don't know whether to laugh or cry do you see how crappy my stats are do you see it! you could have just given me an easy way of leveling up but no you have to say some bullshit about doing it the human way it is ridiculous utterly ridiculous!' Rayne started to rant inside his mind.

'If your ranting is finished I would like to say that you are just over thinking calm your mind take deep breaths do you understand although I can't physically interact with object but I could guide you acting kind of like a danger sense do you understand and try to aim for the joints, floating ribs, temple, jaw and try to tire him out, ' the mysterious voice said .

As Rayne and Kim were finally at the stage both of them took their respective stance with Kim taking a more casual boxing stance to confuse his opponent while Rayne twirled around the staff a little bit before setting it aside so that if he need he could pick it up then he took a more straightforward stance the L-stance, yesterday while training he learnt a important thing, which ever martial art a person uses footwork is the core part of it so through what time he had yesterday he memorised each and every footwork.

"Begin!" Leo shouted.

Both the fighters did not move a muscle. They just stood still preparing for the other one to attack.

Kim was the first one to move he charged forward screaming due to which Rayne was momentarily stunned and that is all the time that Kim needed to strike with a straight punch to the solar plexus followed by a kneeing the jaw which flung Rayne's head backward making him take several step backwards before repostioning himself and again getting into an attack stance. Again Kim rushed forward closing the distance between them and went for a roundhouse kick aiming toward Rayne head but this time Rayne neutralised it with his own kick that he created just now 'reverse kick'.

Kim's centre of mass became off balance but he was able to stabilise himself but what Kim didn't expect was a powerful front kick directed straight towards his jaw which lifted him from the ground but it didn't end there Rayne grab hold of Kim's sleeves and drag him in a downward motion so as to increase the impact while kneeing him in his chest which knocked the air out of Kim's lungs, but it didn't stop there while Kim was still trying to recover from the impact Rayne sweep Kim forward making him fall on his back then performing a axe kick or hammer kick straight towards his thoracic cavity knocking the living air out of him and ultimately knocking him out.

"Winner Rayne Talen." Leo announced.

Rayne hearing that he had won his leg became wobbly and he fell on the ground and finally when the last of the adrenaline in his system faded away he felt an extreme amount of pain then also he stood straight with a brave face so as not to embarrass himself with small droplets of water leaking his eyes.

Leo understanding the situation immediately called the medic with four military men appearing and carrying both the participants away to the doctor's office.

Meanwhile, all the people where stunned including Quinn and Layla because during the starting it looked like the low level Rayne was going to lose but then all of a sudden Rayne started to do some awesome moves which looked like straight out those pre-war action movie with Rayne in between making sound while striking but most of the people said only one thing that is "he won because his opponent didn't take him seriously" or "He won because he was lucky". But almost no one want to admit that a level 3 user and a black belt martial artist lose to a low level and an amateur martial artist they all said it was luck and what not but only one person there saw what really happened and that person was Leo.

'If I am not wrong that boy was surely using Qi but in very little so much so that it was barely visible is he related to my master somehow I need to investigate into it.' Leo made a mental note.

Scene changes

In the Doctor office a young woman in her early thirties with dirty blonde hair tied in a pony tail and round glasses. She was now healing one of the students that arrived just now whose ribs was actually fractured the student was non other than Kim while Rayne just broke his toes because of the front kick he performed so he was the first one to be healed.

Rayne waited for Kim to wake up because he need to clarify a few thing but being an impatient guy he instead decided to write a note «Bro, please don't hold grudge against me it was only due to luck that I won and as a senior martial artist you should forgive me and can you teach me karate. Thank you bye»

Rayne ran back back to the class before it just ended there he saw how Erin decribed about there instructors greatness during the war then he saw Leo demonstrate his ability and give description of it saying "I can see, and hear very well. Better than most of you. My ability allows me to see the Aura of people and when people start to use their ability, their aura's change depending on what ability they are using. And I'm telling you now, Quinn didn't use a single ability."

Rayne hearing this immediately took out his A6 size sketchbook which he simply named it ' Journal' and started to write down the description beside a picture of Leo that he sketched when he first entered the class. He created this Journal in order to keep tabs on the ability he come across there strength as well as their weaknesses. On the first page of the sketchbook sketch of Quinn with an incomplete description.

After a few more matches the class was finally ended and then they had to return all the weapon back in the weapon hall. When they go on there first portal outing they would be able to make their own weapon.

As all the people where exiting Leo asked Rayne to stay back as he need to ask him something.

"I will ask you some questions you need to answer me truthfully." Leo said in a commanding voice.

"OK sir" Rayne said while instinctively saluting.

"I will ask you something do you know how to use Qi," Leo asked.

"Sir what is this Qi?" Rayne asked confused because to him the word sounded familiar but at the same time didn't.

Leo observed Rayne for a few more minutes to observe his aura then he shooed him out of the class.

Meanwhile, through out the walk back to the dorm he kept on pondering what was Qi even when Quinn asked if he was feeling OK he just nodded finally when he arrived in his room he finally remembered why the word sounded so familiar it was because when he was still 13-14 years old he mistakenly stumbled upon a genre of book known as wuxia and xianxia then he became addicted to it he now remembers how one time he tried to cultivate thinking that it was actually a real thing then all of it got shattered when he came to knew that human can't become immortal superheros in real life.

"Now that I think General Leo asked if I know about Qi does that mean in this universe the immortal exist." Rayne asks himself.

"Have you gone insane those kind of thing is illogical how could a person fly on sword it is completely impractical." the mysterious voice said.

"Then why did he spoke about Qi to me." Rayne asked.

"I don't want to tell if you want answer than complete the Quest and unlock the library to know more about details that I collected as for now go and eat something you haven't ate much during the day."

Rayne exited and went towards the cafeteria to eat until he is satisfied.
