Primordial Azure Dragon Trial

Author Note:

The voting results show that the readers do not want the Dragon God to become Takashi's mount, so it won't.

I like keeping my fic a bit interactive, so there will be such votes pretty often in the future, at least for major plot points where I'm not sure.

Glancing at the spectacular scene left by him with only a small part of his power, Takashi felt fascinated. The days since the stone tablet appeared in the ninja world have been a little hectic. So although he can feel his own power and he is clear that he can already destroy planets the size of the earth. But his strength is growing so fast that the last time he truly tested his strength was in the fight with Uchiha Madara and he has grown too much since then.

He did not truly have a visual cognition of his own strength, due to the limitations of his former weakness. Now seeing that he can change terrains at will with a simple move and kill Sky Profound Level beasts that can already be regarded as small overlords on this continent by lightly playing around with his flame powers, it filled his heart with pleasure and satisfaction.

This is exactly what he desires, what he craves. Everything else is secondary, only strength is the truth, the way, the fucking Dao!

'Well, let's meet the Dragon God now.'

Suppressing unnecessary thoughts in his mind, Takashi slowly walked towards a cave not far from his location. Hidden in this seemingly ordinary cave, Takashi could feel a presence with a small part of divinity. After going further on the road to a divine soul due to the Phoenix Soul Essence, his ability to sense divinity has also been strengthened significantly. So he is sure that this cave is the same one as in the plot. The trial ground left here by the Primordial Azure Dragon represents its legacy.

The Dragon God Legacy is a legacy that just like most True Gods is passed down through the power of his bloodline. The Dragon God is the sovereign of all beasts and as basically all dragons looks down upon the world with pride. The bloodline of such a proud God will absolutely never be granted to any ordinary person. Only a supremely talented and mentally strong person who can become the ruler of heaven and earth can be qualified to bear the Dragon God's bloodline.

After recalling the information about the trial in his mind, Takashi stepped into the cave. As soon as he walked in, he felt slight spying on his body. After a few moments of silence, an arrogant and domineering voice echoed in the cave.

"Human, what is the matter with you? I can feel the powers left by the Primordial Phoenix on your body, but everything else is elusive to me."

At the same time, a huge pair of eyes appeared above him again, this time in the form of Chinese Dragon eyes, like reptiles.

'The plot for the two trials was indeed pretty similar. So...Do I have to deal with the same situation twice?

Naa.'

Doing the same trick he used in the Phoenix trial before, he communicated with the chat group in his mind and showed the Dragon God the same memories, but this time he inserted the memories from the Phoenix trial too.

"I see...so you are able to take the initiative to show and block your memories from me?

Very capable, I have to admit.

And the things you have gone through...consider me impressed, human. In the short time, you have been alive, you have already experienced a lot of miserable things.

The way you have dealt with these experiences is also to my liking. Not bad, not bad at all.

But what I don't understand is, how you knew of my trial?"

Initially, the Dragon spirit sounded pretty pleased, like the Phoenix spirit he is also looking for a worthy inheritor. Finding someone suitable is much more difficult than it sounds. Due to the presence of two flood dragons, the trial grounds had been isolated for a thousand years. They had been attracted by the dragon aura and prevented lucky travellers in the Wasteland of Death from having a chance.

Of course, the trials were not complete without challengers before. Prior to the emergence of the flood dragons, there had been 129 challengers, who all without exception failed and died in the trial grounds.

After such a long period of fruitless endeavour, the spirit had already somewhat given up the hope of finding someone worthy. If the Evil God hadn't told the Primordial Azure Dragon that there will be someone guided by fate on this planet, it would have never left its legacy in a lower realm like this.

So seeing Takashi the spirit had rekindled its hope, but it was suspicious about Takashi's unreasonable information.

After hearing the question, Takashi fell silent for some time.

"Is it important? I can't tell you, how I know.

But I can guarantee that I will make your legacy resound through the heavens if you give me a chance!"

After contemplating for a moment, the dragon spirit snorted arrogantly. (got goosebumps writing this sentence)

"Alright, keep your secrets. I will allow you to take the trial, but I have a plea to you after succeeding..."

'Playing at their pride is always a good way for these Chinese beasts.

Well, it probably only worked so well, because the dragon spirit is thinking of its sealed daughter and I have very good qualifications.

For his daughter, even a being as arrogant as the dragon god will lower its head...'

"I promise."

"You know what I want to ask of you?"

"Yes, it's about your daughter. I promise to free her and it won't take long."

'Well, his daughter is in the Heaven Punishing Ancestral Sword, one of the Seven Heavenly Treasures. This sword was a target for me anyway, I can free her while I'm at it. Is no effort anyway, if I sell the sword the soul of his daughter will be set free. But that's for the next time I come to this world..'

"Congratulations you passed the trial.

From your memories, I can see that there is absolutely no problem with your qualifications in terms of strength and willpower. The Phoenix has always been stricter than me in character requirements, you can pass its trial so your character has to be good.

You will probably keep your promise and in the end that is all that matters to me..."
