The Journey Begins

The atmosphere in the hut was relaxed, as both men and women finally let go of their worries.

Earlier this year, they had thought of leaving Clovis village, lest Torr framed or killed them off when they were least prepared.

But apart from Torr, what they feared was also the dangers of the outside world. The chances of them dying before settling in a particular location was 6/10 times more likely to happen to them, ordinary folks… especially if traveling for more extended periods.

This made them hesitate to take the risk. But now, fate had made a choice for them.

At least with their current predicament, they won't have to worry about Torr coming after them.

Why? Because Torr would choose not to waste his resources, allowing the unknown enemy to cleanly kill Wolfram outside.

In this way, Torr wouldn't have to get his hands dirty.

With this, they could escape without worrying about his men coming after them.

However, if he then realized that there was no assassin, then do you think he would let Wolfram escape far?

You look at me; I look at you.

Everyone knew that their security depended on this secret.

Additionally, this secret gave them the chance to kill 2 birds with one stone.

Wolfram looked at them sternly. "This is an opportunity for us to get rid of the spies in our midst."

"Yes!"

Everyone's eyes twinkled in understanding.

Knowing that Wolfram's chances of survival outside the village are slim, the spies would more likely choose to show themselves on the day they set out.

Of course, there was a possibility that some spies might still choose to follow them out. But that would be unlikely.

To them, ordinary folks, assassins were far more powerful than village hunters or warriors.

So why should they choose to stay hidden with the Nells and send themselves to death outside the village?

Even Torr needed these men in the village to boost his strength. So wasn't it better to have them stay back and strengthen his power?

Bottom line, only those loyal to them would truly choose to leave.

.

Tsk.

The system sat in its space, grumbling away.

['Host, from the very first night you arrived, you planned things to work out this way, didn't you?]

'Of course!' Wolfram replied very proudly.

Two captains can't pilot this ship. So one had to leave!

In that case, why leave with so many untied knots?

All spies and traitors had to be eliminated from the group!

The system was annoyed.

[Stupid host. Don't you know that it's more fun to take the spies and live with them outside? Host, at this rate, when will I see blood?]

Want to see him bleed?

Wolfram rolled his eyes, not bothering to answer this mental system.

What sort of system wished for its hosts to get injured?

3 days?

Listening to Wolfram and the rest, Grandma Willow couldn't help feeling a little panicked. "The village has given Little Wolf 3 days to prepare and set out. So if we want to leave with him, what preparations should we take?"

Linda and Dora also chimed in. "Yes. Will 3 days be enough?"

The Nell family was large. And to get ready would not be easy.

Wolfram frowned. He almost underlooked this matter. His exile was different from the Nells.

They weren't told to leave. He was. So there were many factors to consider here.

"Uncle, let's do it like this."

Step by step, Wolfram and the gang began making plans.

But as it stood, they weren't the only ones holding a meeting.

.

Torr, his son, several elders, and his most trusted men gathered in one room, staring at the few men lowering their heads before them.

Torr's frosty eyes scanned the men with an expressionless face while allowing Fabian to address them.

"In 3 days, you and the rest will be able to give the chance to publicly join my father's side."

Ah-

The men were ecstatic, listening to Fabian's words.

However, they celebrated too early.

Fabian chuckled, revealing a sly grin on his face. "Yes. In 3 days, you will no longer need to hide. But before that, you must complete this final test!"

What? Test?

The air around these men turned solemn.

"For these next 3 days, you will find and report every little thing that goes on in the Nell household."

Given how much they cared for Wolfram, would they truly sit back and watch him head out alone, or would they choose to leave with him instead?

Even if assassins or some unknown enemies were after Wolfram, the Nell family would still choose to protect the boy.

Of course, they might also choose to attack Torr's group during these 3 days, trying to firmly sit on the throne as village chief, hence avoiding his exile.

This was a possibility, though the chances were very slim.

But should the Nells choose to leave the village, would they truly go without raising a storm?

Torr's eyes flickered with a dangerous light.

"3 days… I want all eyes and ears on them during this time."

Torr's words echoed out like a heavenly command.

He wanted to know everything!

.

And just like that, 3 days had gone by in the blink of an eye.

But surprisingly, though the village was wrapped in a constant field of tension, the Nell's never made a move.

Rather, they focused on preparing to set out with Wolfram instead.

This move shocked many, seeing how loyal they were to Wolfram.

They had spent their days not only making weapons but also selling a lot of their properties and goods too.

In the end, Torr had bought their homes.

And though he was quick to cheat the Nells by giving them a lower price for their properties, he knew his limits.

If he overdid things, the Nell's might refuse to sell, leaving the village in that state.

This meant that one day, even if they returned years later, their lands and properties would still be theirs.

They weren't the ones exiled. Wolfram was.

That's why he was quick to buy their properties by exchanging them with grain and several essential goods.

This way, even if one or 2 survivors miraculously returned, they wouldn't have a home to go to.

That's right.

In his eyes and the eyes of the many villagers, the Nells were already no more.

Their 3 day period was over.

And today, they would begin their journey of death!
