Humble

After getting Amel, the model as a VIP member, Victor felt very relieved. His excitement is beyond words. Perhaps this moment called resignation will lead us to a miracle.

In the pool, while swimming, Victor has given up his dream of getting a fixed salary worth twice what he gets now along with bonuses. Previously he had imagined that he would be able to rent an apartment or buy a house by applying for a loan from the Bank. This beautiful delusion happened one day after he was declared accepted and signed a temporary employment contract.

Victor realized he had run away. Feeling that oneself has achieved high success and success that is suitable to be boasted, even though there is nothing in his grasp. His life has just begun. Instead of realizing that he had to struggle, Victor secretly patted his chest and forgot how to fight.

When the first month's report on his performance was read out, Victor realized how lazy he had been during that one month. Received facilities from the company, but he worked slowly. It is appropriate if it ends up being called the lowest-performing employee. Because that's the reality.

Victor checks the company's published application, an application that, if used by employees, can show how much sales are worth, member names, and check stock items. Victor was surprised when he saw the amount of bonus value that entered his inbox history.

"Who shopped my referral code?" Victor muttered to himself. At this time, he was in front of the locker. The working hours are over. Almost everyone has gone home.

Victor remembered that there were two people he had already told the referral code for shopping at his company. The two people were Yoshi and Mario. He then sees the history of what items were purchased and sent where.

Victor's eyes widened, his excitement overflowed again. The purchased goods are shipped to Singapore with the fastest fleet, which means that the person has to use the services of express mail packages and pay extra large for it.

Victor checked the booker's name. His forehead wrinkled because it was not what he expected. He felt disappointed, because it was not Mario.

"Who is this person? A.. Ditya..." Victor thought about it sharply. Then Victor reached the conclusion that maybe it was Yoshi's friend who had been shopping. Who knew Yoshi told Aditya this referral code, Victor thought. Didn't he sympathize with me yesterday? Maybe he helped me.

Mall security officers can be heard announcing that all Mall doors will be closed, for employees who are still in the building please leave the building immediately. Victor hurriedly went out and forgot his findings on his account for a moment.

Victor walked quickly out of the office. He saw several people also walking out of their respective shops. Not much. They walked towards the same floor, which was the basement of the parking lot. Unlike Victor, who did not bring a vehicle, so he walked to the exit like a customer in and out of the Mall.

Victor ran into an officer he knew. "G'Night, Mr. Karmo," Victor greeted. He stopped when he realized who the person who crossed paths with him was. They are from the same area. Therefore, from the first meeting, they became familiar.

"Came home last, Vic?"

"Oh... Yes, there was something to do first. Mr. Karmo night duty again? Want coffee first?"

"Ok, let's go get coffee..." Mr. Karmo laughing. "Let's go to the security guard post, there was a coffee that my friend had just sent, from Lampung. Try Lampung coffee, how about it?"

Victor nodded enthusiastically. After all, he himself offered Mr. Karmo first.

Victor and Mr. Karmo were already sitting in front of the security guard post. Each held a cardboard glass filled with hot Lampung coffee.

"How many months have you been here?"

"It's a two-month road. The end of this month will be two months," Victor replied.

Mr. Karmo nodded his head. "You still have a long way to go. If you can pass the three-month trial, you can enjoy the salary as an employee, I hope you can qualify as a permanent employee."

Victor smiled faintly.

"I'm not sure I'll qualify as a full-time employee, but there's still hope of being a contract employee for a year."

Pak Karmo jokes, "Why not aim higher?"

Victor then told him about his situation. Mr. Karmo has been working at the Mall for fifteen years. He already knows what kind of system the FalconFace company is.

Mr. Karmo also underwent a three-month probationary period, just like other employees. The difference is that the burden of the sales target on Victor's shoulders is not on Mr. Karmo.

"I pray that you can get it," Mr. Karmo said later after hearing Victor's story.

Victor nodded. He took a slow sip of his coffee.

Such is life, reality is never in line with expectations let alone our imaginations. Maybe it's better to expect nothing and expect nothing from others.

"You still have one more month to prove that you are worthy," Mr. Karmo said, encouraging Victor.

"Physically you fit the criteria, now just focus on providing humane service."

"Humane?" suddenly there were Mr. Karmo's words that caught his attention.

The man, who received formal education up to the junior high school level, said something that did not fit his profile. Victor also turned his head sharply and noticed Mr. Karmo, there must be a certain meaning behind his words.

Mr. Karmo nodded, "Yes, humane. Customers are human beings, everyone who comes here, no matter the age, male or female, they are the same, want to be treated humanely. Rich and poor alike, they both want to be treated with respect. Who knows, HRD will see you as someone who can do that and consider you to be appointed as an employee because you pass the qualifications with standards that cannot be measured by sales statistics."

Victor tried to digest Mr. Karmo's words.

"Why? Confused? Are you confused?"

Victor nodded.

Mr. Karmo laughed sensibly. He said that because this afternoon he had seen the way Victor greeted the model who came to his store. It happened that Mr. Karmo was passing by on patrol. He saw an unpretentious village young man, welcoming guests like welcoming someone special, not just a source of income. Even the element is not visible at all, very thin. For Mr. Karmo, he can see Victor is an employee who will not discriminate against services based on their social class. He then hoped that Victor would not change.

"This afternoon I saw you do it."

"This afternoon?"

Mr. Karmo nodded, "I'm passing by. I'm on the afternoon shift and you know the first task of the security guard is patrolling. At that moment I saw you welcoming a girl, you looked like you were delivering your girlfriend choosing her bag. You treat her by not looking at her social status."

"Don't look at social status?" Victor repeated the words and was even more confused.

Mr. Karmo burst into laughter. In his heart he began to doubt his own hunch. Did I guess wrong?

"Well, it's like that anyway. So keep that humble attitude of yours. It can help you one day," said Mr. Karmo.

"Please explain in more detail, what does it mean?" Victor was already curious.

"Haish come on! You will feel the explanation yourself from experience one day!"

Victor whined like a child.

"Coffee has been drunk, right? Then go home!" Mr. Karmo avoided Victor's increasingly whining. It made him think of his late son.

"Go home! It's almost midnight. Tomorrow you still have to work, it's best to get to boarding and sleep soon!"

Victor finally relented. He went home with a calmer heart. Victor wondered if the calmness he felt was because of coffee or because he had just talked to Mr. Karmo?

Victor pondered as he walked back to the boarding house. It made his pace slow, so he arrived at the boarding house already past midnight.

The morning sun came too fast for Victor. He hurried to prepare himself and ran towards the Mall. Although the distance where he lives is close, he can be late if he wakes up thirty minutes before office hours start.

Victor made it to the office five minutes before it was too late. He pressed his thumb on the fingerprint scanner. He must also check in the retina of his eye to an instrument. After his absence was over, he was relieved.

Victor sat in front of the locker to adjust his breath.

"It's so bad, it's almost too late," greeted Luis in surprise.

Victor looked up. He looked at Luis wordlessly and was a little astonished because his friend seemed to have a brighter face than usual.

"Are you... treatment?" Victor emphasized the last word.

Luis nodded. "Why wonder? I did it a long time ago."

"Whether you change products or treatment places, I think your new place is better. Your skin looks smoother than before," Victor said, opening his locker and changing his clothes. His body that has a six pack is visible.

Luis looked happy. He felt praised.

"Really? Then my efforts were not in vain. I did change the facial," Luis said.

"Want to share with me?" Victor fished.

Luis smiled and deliberately narrowed his eyes. "Of course.... not! This is a secret!" Luis laughed and walked out.

Victor exhaled a long breath. "I won't go there anyway. It costs a lot of money."

For a moment, the room became calm.

"Victor!"

Victor turned his head in surprise when someone called his name. He was even more surprised when the one who called him was Ken, a fellow employee at the same store as him.

"What's the matter?" Victor felt something was wrong from Ken's expression.

"Get out quickly! Those crazy women are looking for you!"

"Crazy?"

Ken drags Victor because he thinks there is no time to explain.

Victor saw Amel and several women with dazzling postures like Amel standing in front of each bag display shelf.

"Guys, here comes Victor!" Amel exclaimed and walked up to Victor. The woman hooked her hand into Victor's arm. Ken retreated. He coded the eyes with the other employees.
