Hope to be the protagonist

Victor felt very tired. Why did all this happen?

Victor sighed. There was no one in the locker room. He looked chaotic as he sat inside that dressing room. Realizing that sitting there for a long time would not change the mood, Victor decided to go out.

Since when does this fatigue gnaw? Has it been since coming out of Aditya's house. Along the way back to the boarding house, Victor recalls Aditya, his home, Aditya's simple appearance but very different from him.

Victor had seen his reflection with Aditya on the glass. They sat facing each other, and to their left was a thick glass wall and reflected their bodies.

The house that Victor usually sees is generally brick or adobe, but Aditya's house, the inside has walls made of glass even though the outside seems like a classic castle in England.

"Even if I'm wearing an expensive suit from the office, Aditya's opulence remains unbeatable. Then when compared to Mario, I would definitely look like rubbish," Victor thought.

"I really want to look fancy like that even if it's just wearing a T-shirt," Victor complained to himself.

Victor then observed his body reflected in a glass wall of the convenience store he passed. He sighed. He realized there were already many differences. He used to be very thin, it can be said to be composed of bones and skin with a little flesh.

"All this is nothing compared to that man. Ah,! This is why no girl glanced first. What kind of look do I have?" Victor's self-complaining continued for a few moments in his mind. Victor only stopped when he realized when one of the convenience store visitors noticed him from inside. They faced each other. The visitor must be surprised, what Victor did in front of the convenience store, daydreaming like a person lost self-esteem.

Feeling caught off guard, Victor didn't want to be considered a stalker or a freak, so he entered the convenience store and chose some snacks and glass noodles to take home. Victor also took some fizzy drinks. Suddenly he wanted to enjoy the drink.

Victor used to not be very free to go shopping, it was because his finances were mediocre. He can't do expenses randomly. Now, he thinks it doesn't matter if it's a little extravagant because he has already got the bonus.

Victor took his groceries home with a more confident pace. At least, now he feels secure about his financial condition.

"That's right. I'm not Aditya or Mario who was born with a golden spoon. So I have to accept the reality, I'm part of the working class, not a business owner. If this is in the royal era, they are princes while I am just a commoner who works in the market," Victor said to encourage himself.

"Let's look at the positive side. Now I can shop without hesitation, there is no need to look at the price. This means progress. True, this is progress. Let's just enjoy this play, because I'm not the protagonist," Victor said and then reflected on his words.

"Wait a minute. Who knows that I am indeed the protagonist in my own story. I was born into a poor family, struggling to make my dreams come true. I would manage to earn a lot of money and one day build my own business, even if it was just a small café, it was still a success. I ended up being a successful protagonist," Victor told himself. He was completely intoxicated in his fantasy.

Since entering the metropolis, Victor has kept imagining the success he will have within ten years. But after only a month, he was already faced with the fact that it was difficult to achieve. Now entering the third month, he will somehow face the world. Today's incident has slapped him with seeing the real world more brightly.

Victor had arrived in front of his boarding house. He looked up like a drunk man, observing the walls of a boarding house called White Castle. He giggled, feeling funny at its name.

"I also live in a castle," Victor said and shook his head. What a contrast the castle I live in with the one I visited this afternoon, Victor said silently in his heart.

I shouldn't be discouraged by the difference in this world. If there is no difference, then the world will have no color, don't you think? Victor asked, don't know for whom.

When he entered the entrance of his boarding house, he turned to the guard room. There was a woman wearing glasses there. She was gray, although she claimed to be only thirty-five years old. The woman's name was Daniela, the owner of the White Castle boarding house and lived in room number 1.

Daniela lifted her face from the book unfolding in front of her. She greeted Victor kindly and smiled. However, somehow the smile was cold.

"Good night, Daniela..." Victor greeted Daniela.

"It's still afternoon, Victor," Daniela said, resuscitating Victor at the time.

Victor turned his head outside. The sun is already leaning west, but it has not yet entered dusk.

"It's still four o'clock in the afternoon," Daniela added.

"Oh, sorry," Victor said. Not trying to correct the mistake, just spontaneously saying sorry.

"It's okay. It's only natural that you get disoriented in time, because you are busy and have a lot of thoughts," said Daniela.

Victor also walked up to Daniela. Victor leaned his shoulder on the door leaf. Victor looked at Daniela who was holding a novel. Victor couldn't read the title, but could see the cover was green and had intricate illustrations.

Now, Victor also envied Daniela's life. The woman who has wavy hair seems to be able to live a relaxed life. She receives room rent payments every month. It made her not have to work and live enough on room rent.

"I'm actually not very busy," Victor said, starting to realize what was causing his fatigue.

"Then why do you look so tangled like that?" Daniela asked kindly.

After talking a few words and being close enough, Victor no longer felt that Daniela was a cold woman.

"I don't know. I'm also not sure what the reason is. Maybe it's because I walk after work, or because I haven't been sleeping well lately."

Daniela sighed.

"Want to drink tea? It is said that tea can help us sleep better, "said Daniela.

Victor smiled. Suddenly he felt ridiculous. Why confide in the owner of the boarding house. The woman certainly didn't understand what I was saying, Victor thought.

"Ah, no. Thanks. I'd better take a shower soon. My body feels sticky with sweat," Victor said.

Daniela then shows that she understands what Victor needs most right now.

"Well. Have a good rest. Relax with me next time, don't keep it alone if you're tired. We can have tea together in the back garden. Relax there," Daniela said.

Victor nodded while thinking about it. The unexpected invitation made him feel cool.

When he turned to leave Daniela's room, Victor almost ran into the masked human. Victor spontaneously avoided him. The masked man stood still in place. Victor had a hard time translating that attitude. Could it be that I should pass first?

After a while the two were frozen, Victor finally took the road first. Victor passed by the masked man without even glancing at him. The masked man gave Victor goose bumps.

"Who the * is he. The aura feels dark," Victor thought as he walked quickly up the stairs.

"Wildo, maybe next time you can introduce yourself to him," Daniela said, suggesting that Wildo build a bond with Victor.

Wildo moved his neck slightly.

"I just had to keep an eye on him," Wildo said.

Daniela smiled with narrowed eyes behind the glasses.

"I wonder why you're so loyal to Zi? What do you owe him?"

Wildo moved his body. Looks stiff.

"You just got up, didn't you? How many thousand years?" Daniela seems to deliberately provoke Wildo's emotions.

"You don't need to know what debt there is between me and Zi. Don't you yourself want to be regarded as a loyal follower? Why? You are jealous that Zi always takes me wherever he goes?" Wildo is like challenging Daniela to a fight.

"I can keep you living in books forever," Daniela threatened.

"Magic Tongue, you wouldn't dare to do it. Even if you manage to do it, you know the consequences," Wildo said, very confident. He even called Daniela by her nickname.

Wildo ended the conversation unceremoniously. Wildo left Daniela and walked into room number 7 on the first floor.

Daniela crackled. She hates Wildo very much. Wildo was right, Daniela hated him for envy. Daniela wanted to always be by Zi's side, but Zi made her the guardian of the castle.

Daniela got goosebumps and was quite trembling when Wildo walked up to her. Wildo's two eyes, which were not so visible, hidden behind the mask still managed to intimidate her. However, Wildo's strength is far above Daniela, and Wildo also knows how to break her Magic Tongue move.

Daniela growled.

Victor had already arrived in his room. While placing the plastic containing his groceries on the floor, Victor began to think about moving out of White Castle.

"I have to find another boarding house, there must be a better one at an affordable price" Victor thought. He took off his shoes and when he put his mobile phone on the nightstand, he saw a message coming in. Luis invites him to hang out at a bar.

Victor refused the invitation.

"Sorry, I'm so tired. Want to go to bed sooner today," Victor told Luis.

After replying to the message, Victor went to take a shower.

Victor could think about moving because he already had money that would allow him to choose a nicer boarding house. Before, let alone thinking about moving, he didn't even know if he could pay the boarding house bill next month.

This is the cycle of life of the working people, the motto of earning money to make life a little better. This is a matter of pride.
