"We would have if we could but it is not a possibility for us. Just as you have priorities, so do we. But maybe you can help us in this regard?" Su considered those words inside his mind as the other two waited.
The female alpha looked to be constipated with impatience but she did not hurry him in any way. Su was thankful for that offer.
The emperor was a different case and Su found it impossible to read him. He thought that the emperor looked worried about his answer but that could have been Su's instincts talking ham.
This was a big opportunity for Su though. And not only for him but for the whole human race.
It was more than apparent that there had been a reason for the Sentients to take humans from their home plant. Maybe knowing the source would help Su uncover this secret.
He also had to find a way to get all this information back to his party so that they could make use of it. Having his alpha be the emperor would it interfere with that part of his plan in any way.
"I would like to know the whole situation first before I agree to make any decision. I would also need proof of your words. It would be ideal if I can help you out in any way" Su decided to give it a shot.
He was more than aware that he would not be allowed to go home after what had just happened with the emperor. It was too big of a risk to be allowed from the other side.
"It is quite agreeable. However, I would also like to place some kind of assurance on you to make sure you do not betray us and reveal about yours and the emperor's bond. We also need to find a retainer for you. I know a few good alphas who can-" the alpha lady agreed before their emperor could get a word in.
The emperor looked constipated, gold flashing in his eyes for a single second before he groaned in pain. It instantly attracted the other two's attention toward him.
"I'm alright but I don't think my magic agrees with the retainer idea. Maybe a beta would be more suitable?" The emperor suggested as he took a deep breath. He still looked shook and in pain.
His words also caused Ray to frown in disagreement.
"It won't be advisable. The captive (the emperor coughed), excuse me, our guest has already demonstrated great ability by taking a force of beta guards barehanded. Nothing short of a trained alpha would be a good idea. Or maybe a highest-grade magician?" the frown on the emperor's face told the that he found both to be disagreeable.
Su considered his options as well.
A beta retained would be ideal and he was sure he would be able to slip past one if needed. An alpha could also be worked around but it would be considerably difficult.
Not to mention the fact that he was an omega and leaving an unmated omega with alpha was asking for trouble.
There was also an option of the highest-grade magician and it reminded Su of something. Hadn't someone commented that his sensitivity with magic made him ideal as one?
"So, which one do you prefer? Would you take the alpha guard or the highest-grade magician option?" the lady asked, ignoring the emperor's protest.
"Why do we need them? I can act as his retainer and he can be placed under me for protection. We can also test our bond that way and land in a win-win situation" the emperor was surely pouting but Su did not miss the danger in those eyes.
The reptilian blue eyes were cold and calculating and Su could also feel the beginning of magical build-up around the emperor.
It was volatile and made Su itch in the back of his head. Something in him was urging him to reach out toward the emperor and assist him in calming down.
"We cannot risk someone realizing who our guest is in reality. Many people saw his face so we will need to keep him undercover all the time. The only clothes like that are for the highest-grade magicians. Surely you see the problem there, right?" Lady Ray asked.
Her words seemed to be adding fuel to fire and Su flinched as the magic increased in potency.
"Maybe this is not something we should discuss right now. Ignis's magic is a little agitated right now and so is yours, Lady Ray" Su had not noticed it before but it was clearer now.
The situation had caused the magic aura to rise around the room. It was beginning to get to an uncomfortable level for him.
"What are you talking about? Are you saying that you can feel magic? Even at this level of emission? Surely not?" Lady Ray looked shocked and Su felt a smug glad at getting that reaction.
He had caused this. He had caused a full-fledged Sentients alpha speechless and it felt so good.
"Don't move. Let me check you out" Lady Ray made a motion for Su's face but she did not get to move.
Su sound himself in a pair of familiar arms with a growling chest behind his back. It felt so comfortable, a familiar vibration that was lulling him to sleep.
"Don't touch him so carelessly. I am not sure I can control myself from attacking you" The growl from the chest was present in the emperor's voice as well and it brought a sense of contentment to Su's inner omega.
He felt it stir inside him with a hesitant 'Alpha?' The resurgence of protective magic around him did not help his case.
It had even started to leak out and form small reactions in the visible range. Lady Ray looked rightfully concerned about the emperor's current mood and she hesitantly took a step back.
"You can ease your hold on me. I will not let her touch you" Su proposed as he rested his hand on the face behind him.
His instincts told him to hold and press which Su did without any warning. He also felt something stir inside him and could not help but find it soothing.
It had been a long time since he had last felt these soothing waves inside him and he had not realized how much he had missed them. Su had almost thought of it as a fraction of his imagination but now they felt more solid than ever.
"You! That's not possible. You are not human? But you don't feel like a Sentient either?" Lady Ray's confused voice came from behind Su and he did his best to ignore her.
Ignis had already turned Su's body to face himself rather than the female alpha and his face showed a content expression as Su pressed more into him.
Whatever was happening, it was affecting the alpha as well. But the usual panic was nowhere to be found.
It took some time for the warmth to fade away from Su's skin and the emperor blinked slowly. His eyes that had looked to be in a trance finally seemed to be clearing up.
He looked as if he was just waking up from a dream.
But as soon as he did, his eyes moved away from Su's to the stunned figure behind him. Su also jolted as he looked at the shocked female alpha.
"That! That was magic. For a human to hold magic is unheard of. What do you suppose this means?" the lady asked as she tried to regather her wits.
"I think it means that we need to have a change of plans. Su's position in our circle seems to be something that we should protect, not to mention the effect. Maybe he is our answer to our current problem" the emperor sounded worried but determined as well.
It did not escape Su's notice that the alpha had not taken his hands off of Su's person. Nor did the use of his name escape Su's notice.
The alpha did not elaborate about how he knew Su's name and Su did not ask. It was something they both accepted and decided not to complicate things.
"I see. I guess we will need to check for magical capabilities next. I shall go and prepare everything and will come back to get you when it is time" the female alpha fled the scene.
No-one stopped her either. Everyone needed time to gather their wits and it allowed the pair to take a breather as well.
"Do you want to talk about it?" the alpha emperor asked but Su shook his head.
All Su wanted to do now was to sleep and the alpha emperor seemed to accept it as an appropriate answer.
It was far easier to fall asleep this time with the sleep pulling at Su's mind. The use of magic had exhausted him and Su was not sure if he wanted to do it again anytime soon or not.
