The jerking of the bed was enough to wake Su up. The motion rocked his body and jolted him away from the soft comfort of his mattress and onto the floor.
Su opened his eyes to look at what was going on around him, only to find the guards around him knocked out cold. Their covered body gave nothing away but Su found it to be an impressive feat nonetheless.
After all, there had to be some alphas mixed in there as well. Plus, there was the fact that these people knew how to use magic the best.
But why would someone knock these people out? What gain was there in doing something like this?
"Su, are you coherent? Can you understand me?" Su jerked his head at the call. A covered figure stood behind him in an intimidating fashion. He had his scent blockers on which made it impossible for Su to be able to tell who he was.
The lack of any visible facial features did not help Su's case. It just made him distrust the figure even more and made his instincts go out of control.
Su lashed out, his reactions slowed down by his fatigue. The other figure did not have such a problem and easily managed to avoid Su's sluggish attack and countered with a move of his own.
Under any other circumstances, Su would have wiped the floor with the other but not today. His body had decided not to fight and the familiar movement of the assassin did not help his case.
"What the hell- Erwin?" Su's mind slowly caught up with the presence and went through all the possibilities before stopping on the most possible scenario.
"Who else would it be? I had to sneak in here to save your ass" despite his tone, Erwin did not sound annoyed. Erwin reached out to help Su out but felt the omega thrash in his hold.
The action had been unconscious on Su's part. His body had not liked the alpha's hold on him. His body recognized Erwin as a foreign alpha and decided to break the gentle hold.
At least it had not attacked Erwin, recognizing him as a familiar presence in Su's life.
"Sorry. It's better if you don't touch me right now" Su walked a few steps back to create a distance between himself and Erwin. He did not want to injure the other alpha.
But Erwin sneaking in here was a problem for Su. He did not want to escape this place yet but he had no excuse to give Erwin either.
Some part of him wanted to trust Erwin and tell him everything but a major portion of Su wanted to keep the news of his bond safe and to himself.
"Did they do something to you? You don't look so swell right now. We should get out of here before you collapse again" Erwin warned but did not try to touch Su again. He did pass a judging look toward Su who tried his best not to look Erwin in the eye.
He had to be the bearer of bad news but he had to make a stand. His presence here was an opportunity for Su to get humanity out from under the Sentient's grasps. Su could not allow that opportunity to get away from his hands.
"I can't leave here. I bargained with their emperor and there might be a chance to end it all peacefully" Su still did not look the other part in the eyes as he conveyed those words.
He was likely losing all credibility he had for doing so but he couldn't help but look away from Erwin's searching eyes. Su felt guilty and for reasons even he was not aware of.
"They got to you. How could you let yourself be swayed by those demons, Su? Is it some kind of magic? Is that what was happening there? Are you getting brainwashed into this agenda by their magic?" Erwin looked more than mad at the prospect.
Su found himself getting hot and cold at the act. He was thankful that he had Erwin's loyalty. The other was proving himself to be a great asset to Su and his well-being.
However, now was not the time Su wanted to see those tendencies aimed toward him. They were just complicating things for him.
"Nothing is wrong and no one has tried any magic on me. You would know since you have seen me around magic before" Su explained but his words fell on deaf ears. Erwin was hearing him but he was not listening to him. The alpha seemed to have made up his mind about their current situation.
Su had a bad feeling about his current situation but he tried to listen to that feeling.
That was how he dodged the first attempt to knock him out. Su twisted his body out of the location of the blow and thanked his fast reflexes for it.
"Erwin, there is no need for such violence-" Su tried to bargain and failed to notice the other presence behind him in the process.
A hand collided with Su's neck and knocked him unconscious in a matter of seconds. He did not even get to know who had hit him before the world went black.
"Was that necessary? You could have been a little gentler with him" Erwin complained but he picked up the unconscious omega in his grasp.
Erwin was far gentler this time and held the omega as if he was handling an active bomb. He had never seen Su react like that in all the years he had known him. The omega's behavior had raised too many flags in Erwin's mind.
"We don't have time to stand around here and argue. The noise we made must have alerted the guards about our present location" the muffled voice made it tough to figure out the speaker. Even Erwin felt unnerved by the other's tone but he decided to question the other.
He had been told of this spy inside the enemy ranks a long time ago. Erwin had even forgotten this person's existence till he had called back to the headquarters.
The higher-ups had been furious with his failure and Su's capture but they had been empathic enough to allow him one last chance to retrieve Su. They had even thrown in the spy's information as a bonus which had been a surprise for sure. Did they value their omega operative that much? Or was there something else going on behind the scene
And why had their spy agreed to help Erwin now? There was no greater benefit to all this and Erwin was not offering anything substantial to the other side.
"This way should be safe. There is supposed to be no guard here for another half an hour. You can smuggle the person out from here" the spy stopped but motioned for Erwin to go ahead.
It all sounded far too perfect for Erwin but he was not one to look a gifted horse in the mouth.
"Take care and stay safe" Erwin managed to utter those words before he was out in the corridor.
It was not easy to howl a full-grown adult in his back to safety but Erwin somehow managed to make it to the external wall.
The spy who had been left behind turned the corner and tried to appear as a normal guard. He even opened his radio to report this breach in security. This way, he could clear himself of all suspicion and still maintain his cover.
It was a clever trick and likely to work as well. The cameras and other devices had been taken out already. The guards had not seen him as so even that danger was out for him.
Now the spy only needed to leave the hall naturally and he would be clear of even circumstantial evidence.
"Oh, and where might you be going? It's not nice to smuggle our guest out like that" the spy turned back startled. He had not seen anyone follow him and the voice of footsteps should come out rather clear in such a hug and space.
Whosoever this person was, he was not a normal person. He had to have been highly trained and skilled to be able to get a drop on him like this.
The spy decided to attack his shadow. He had to eliminate the target without delay. His element of surprise was gone but taking out one person should not be that difficult of a task to accomplish for him.
Blood splattered around the pair as the dead body of the spy hit the ground.
The small shadow that held the murder weapon just sighted in annoyance at the bloodstain before a pained expression crossed his face.
"I'll have to be the one to report this in, won't I? If my feeling is correct then I'm in for a hard time ahead. Lady Ray really outdid herself this time with getting me in trouble" the kid left the room and willingly walked toward a hard time.
