Chapter 25: The Rogues

RORY POV

“Is she able to be…destroyed?” I asked grimly.

“I’m sure she can. I don’t know how, though.”

“When did you find about Astelle?”

“I’ve known about Astelle for years now. When my parents were young, they sat me down often and talked to me about what to expect as alpha….”

“So you were born into this position?” I interrupted.

“Yes, my father was the alpha, and therefore I am the alpha. Since I was a pup, I’ve known what to expect, and my parents tried their best to prepare me. When I was very young, they took me into their study and explained that there was a dangerous being out to destroy our kind. The Maga Magna is what they called it.”

“I always assumed Astelle would focus only on wolf-shifters and that humans were out of her trajectory,” he continued, “but I assumed wrong. It looks as if she’s intent on taking down humans as well.”

“But why? Why is she interested in humans?”

“I don’t know. What did she mention to you?” Oliver asked.
