RORY POV
My mom practically pulled me into the kitchen, where she had my laptop opened and sitting on the kitchen table. The security footage was up.
"I was doing the morning count," she said frantically, "when I noticed Ivy was missing. I searched every camera looking for her and couldn't find her. So, I went out to her pen and looked for her myself, and she was gone. Ivy's gone, and her pups are gone too!"
Ivy had come to the sanctuary last month, pregnant and scared. Hunters had shot her in the leg and her rump, and we had spent thousands of dollars in emergency vet bills, paying for surgery for her leg and her backside to save her and her litter. She also had a bad case of fleas and a gastric issue. My mom and I felt we had a duty to help her since she was pregnant.
