We pulled up to the house just after ten o'clock at night. The back of the SUV was stuffed with bags and boxes and I dreaded having to haul it all in.
I couldn't wait for Monday to get here. We had a small staff of service people that tended the house and helped out around the place during the day, but we always gave them the weekends off. Heaven knew I could use Alfie's help right now lugging all this crap in.
Bradley got out of the car and popped the trunk, grabbing as many bags as he could carry--which was an astronomical amount. I leaned back against the car and struck a cigarette while I watched him carry it all inside.
When he came back out, he glared at me. "You just gonna watch?"
"Aw, come on big-guy. You got this!" I smirked and stubbed out my cigarette beneath my shoe. "Don't forget her sheets in the seat." I grabbed a few bags and walked them inside.
