Chapter 49: Selene

I curled into a ball on the motel bed and tried my hardest to think about how I would get to Arthur. I had already sent him a message but I didn't think for a second he would take it seriously, or if he did, he wouldn't show up alone to the location I had texted him.

I needed something mind-numbing, something mundane. Television was perfect for that. I grabbed the remote and turned it on, waiting for the old thing to warm up and give me a picture. Jesus Christ.

When it finally turned on, there was an old cop show that was flicking across the screen. How fitting.

I tried to click to another channel but the buttons wouldn't work. It looked like I was stuck with this sh*t.

I got off the bed and went to the bathroom, flicking on the shower as hot as I thought it would go and stripping out of my clothes. It may be a crummy motel but the water pressure was solid and the water got hot as Hell.
