It was the weekend, so Rosie and Alfie were off. I made breakfast for the four of us as Morgan made coffee. Bradley was working out in the backyard and Selene was showering off the events of last night.
"So do we think she's ready," Morgan asked quietly.
I piled a batch of bacon onto a plate and cast a glance at him. "I'd say she's more than ready. She handled last night like I knew she would. If she can do that, she can handle anything we throw at her."
"So then, we're ready to move on Knightvale? As a family?"
I nodded and cracked a few eggs into the pan. "Yes, as soon as we talk to Selene."
"Good, I hate just sitting around doing nothing."
Selene entered the kitchen with a little wobble in her knees and yawned, stretching her arms out over her head. "F*ck, it smells delicious in here."
I grabbed a plate from the cabinet and fixed up a plate for her once the eggs were done; over easy just like she liked them. "Are you up for our talk?"
