Chapter 48

My eyes fluttered open to find Chance's bedroom glowing from the early morning sunlight streaming in between the floor-to-ceiling curtains that framed the wall of windows on one side of the room. The walls were a dark gray, but all the furnishings were in lighter shades, giving the room a warm, homey feeling that I couldn't get enough of. With a little sigh, I scooted back and tried to get free. Chance's arm disagreed and pulled me in even closer.

"Stay," Chance said, his voice rough with sleep.
