Yamamura Shinji

I, Yamamura Shinji, a normal highschool boy who was said to be gifted with the look. Survey told I was no. 1 most handsome student here. I was aware of that but wasn't that too exaggerating? As a record, I'd been confessed to for the 10th times this year, 17th including past year. I turned down all of them, and because of that I got called a playboy. I was not at fault for this and honestly I had no interest in any girls except for one.

Yamakawa Toshiko.

She was a childhood friend of mine, we went to the same elementary school and play together when we were kids, but as time went by, I felt we're slowly becoming more distant. We were like that until we graduated elementary school. It happened after I discovered she was from a noble family. Because of that I didn't even do a proper farewell during our graduation. It was entirely my fault.

Luckily, I met her again in highschool. She changed so much compared to when we were kids. She became even more of a noble looking lady. Long straight hair that reached her waist, with a cute glittering hairpin to the bangs which was a gift I bought for her 6th birthday. Her eyes seemed colder though.

I was the one who greeted her first, and somehow she remembered me after so long. I thought she hate me but gratefully we maintained our friendship until present, yes, only a friend, no further acceleration...

****Present****

"Toshiko-chan~"

"Don't call me that, or I'll beat you up."

"Cold as always huh~"

This was our usual interaction. An intense gaze I got from her sent chill down my spine but I'd gotten used to it at this point. As cold as she was, I don't think she hated me. I presumed this was one of her special traits.

"How's the exam?"

"Good."

I tried to form a conversation as we walked towards the entrance. She said that but her dissatisfied face told the opposite. She must be performing poorly last week.

"Now that the exam's over, how about a date in town?"

"Good idea."

I just tried my luck but didn't expect her to agree this quick. Eh? Is she actually stressed out over last week? She'd usually like 'Waste of time.' and 'Are you joking?' type of replies.

"Yamamura-kun."

"Mhm?"

"I... want to go here.."

She showed me a pic of a high rated cat cafe she found online. It might be my imagination but I think I saw a glimpse of blush on her face. Was she embarassed? She's too cute I wanna die now. She definitely felt embarassed.

"Sure why not, but Toshiko-chan I never thought you're a cat person."

"Uhh... I happened to find a stray kitten the other day. It's so cute.. So that's why I.."

Oh my gah my sugar rate was increasing, she's just too cute. This was the reason I love to tease her, the contra of her personality from seriousness to shyness, perfect! She loves to act tough but easily sulk when things didn't go her way. I'm grateful for being born as a commoner so I could bring this lady who'd been prisoned in her mansion to fun places.

"So Toshiko-chan, I'm free this weekend."

"Then let's meet up on Saturday, 10 a.m. In front of the station."

"Oh, always full prepared. As expected of my Toshiko-chan."

"It's important to make an early plan. Also, stop with 'my Toshiko-chan'. It's disgusting."

Oh, getting a disgusted look from her was kinda refreshing. I wanted to hug her so bad but we hadn't reached the point where you could call us a couple yet, I was afraid she'd saw me as some kind of pervert. (She did)

"Toshikocchan~!"

"Uwah!"

Kai Ayako rushed towards Toshiko from afar and hugged her tightly in the back. The impact from her dash leaned Toshiko forwards a little. The aggressive one had arrived, anyhow I got to see Toshiko's surprised face. What a bless morning.

"Look at my recently polished nails. Whaddya think? Give a goth vibe ain't it?"

"I won't bother on something that's against the school rules."

"Aww, cmon~!" Ayako acted like a spoiled child who wanted attention from parents.

"...."

"It's so pretty." I praised her out of pity for being ignored.

"Mou... I want Toshikocchan to praise me~"

Ayako might be quite pushy at times but she wasn't entirely a bad person. Her kind and cheerful persona lighted up the air in our group.

"Morning~!"

"Good morning Ayako."

"G'mornin Ayako-chan."

"Mornin~!"

While we were busy rummaging through our locker to switch out to the indoor shoes, Ayako didn't pass the opportunity to greeted other people as well. As expected of a gal whose social skills was out of this world.

"Good morning, Yamamura-kun~"

"Morning."

Of course I was no exception.

"Ah, morning Kazuya-san."

"Mhm."

I happened to meet Kazuya-san on our way towards the classroom. In all honesty I didn't particularly have a good nor bad impression of him as he was rarely seen in the class. Until a moment ago when we had lunch in a restaurant he worked in, and the time before the exam.

He was an interesting fellow indeed.

"Heeeehh~ Kazucchi, did you change your hairstyle?"

"No."

"Eeeehh really? You look different tho."

"I'm practically the same. What are you on about? Hey Yamamura-san, is she always like this?"

"Yep, she is."

"You both kinda rude... Toshikocchan~ they're bullying me~~" Ayako brought herself close to Toshiko whilst rubbing each other's cheek.

"Uh.. don't cling onto me.." Toshiko slightly push her.

There she went again pouting and craving for a caressing. She thought she had found a new toy but too bad Kazuya-san was not as easy as he seem.
