Chapter 24 Inside Information

On the second day, Watson was awakened by Julian's call.

Klova, who was sleeping in his arms, frowned and changed a comfortable posture to continue sleeping.

Looking at her naked body in the air, Watson can't help but swallow some saliva.

The sweet scene of last night came to his mind again. They continued to have sex until very late last night. It took him a long time to let Klova beg for mercy under his torture.

He searched for his underwear while cleaning the ruined battlefield.

"Why do you call me so early?"

"Watson, are you okay? I heard that you were ambushed by a gang, which was reported as the headline," Julian asked with concern. She had been helping with the matters of the charity auction these days.

She wouldn't have known that Watson was attacked if the butler hadn’t reminded her to increase the security.

This woman didn't care about him at all. Watson felt a strong sense of frustration and a little sad.

Was it all his wishful thinking?

"I'm fine. I've sent those bandits to hell."

Julian didn't sense the disappointment in Watson's words. She continued, "It's good that you are fine. Tomorrow is the auction day. Anything you want to ask?"

Hearing this, Watson got excited. Julian was nice. She took the initiative to give inside information.

"Is there anything I can pick?"

"Almost nothing. You can pay attention to an emerald necklace. Even our examiner can't find its origin. There is an incomprehensible pattern on it."

"An unknown emerald necklace?" Watson became interested. The ancient emerald necklace was not worth much, but the story behind it was valuable. As long as the meaning of the pattern was clear and the suitable buyer was found, the value of the necklace would naturally increase by several times.

"Anything else?" Watson asked.

"That's all I can say based on our friendship. If you want more valuable information, you may have to pay a visit to my father in person. He has heard your story and wants to see you."

Julian's father!

Watson was a little nervous. He was going to meet his father-in-law. Why was it so sudden? Should he bring some gifts? It's impolite to go there empty-handed.

He remembered that there were several boxes of Behike cigars in the warehouse of the robber. They were not moldy and smelt mellow.

The value of the well-preserved cigars was hard to define.

He had planned to take part in this auction and just sell the cigar so that he could find someone who knew the value and make another fortune.

Now it seemed that it was more appropriate to give it to Julian's father.

Sid auction house had branches in various cities. The buyer was a well-educated and low-profile millionaire.

He must have some knowledge about cigars. He could help Watson discern the value of them.

The newly rented extended Lincoln helped him show off wherever it was.

One team led the way, and the other followed behind. Seeing so many people, the guards of the manor did not dare to look down upon them. They hurried to welcome the guests into the manor.

Even the servants and butlers of the millionaire didn't dare to neglect the distinguished guest invited by their lady.

The old millionaire seemed to have studied the ancient tea culture. The butler made a pot of red robe for Watson and let Watson enjoy the tea.

The layout of the living room was not as magnificent as he had imagined. There were many oil paintings and antique furniture. Low profile but was rich in substance.

A lovely white-haired old man slowly walked up the stairs.

Julian introduced, "Watson, this is my father, Sir Jacob."

"Nice to meet you, Sir. This is my first time meeting you. Please accept my gifts."

Glancing at the box of the cigar, the old man's eyes lit up. He said excitedly, "it's the Behike cigar that was produced more than ten years ago!"

Watson immediately asked, "Sir, is it worth a lot?"

The old man smelled the box and nodded with satisfaction. "It smells mellow. It's top-grade, very old-fashioned."

Then he turned to look at Watson and explained, "Young man, not everything can be measured by money. The gift you gave me is very suitable for me. Thank you very much."

Seeing that the old man liked it, Watson felt relieved. He also thought what the old man said was reasonable, but it was undeniable that the old man knew that he still had several boxes and wanted to buy them.

After the two of them sat down, they chatted casually as they sipped their tea, talking about the attack Watson had encountered.

Without the presence of the police, Watson told the details of the matter to the old man. Speaking of the exciting part, the old man clapped his hands and applauded.

Watson didn't expect that the old man would be interested in such violent things, not like a millionaire at all.

After taking a sip of tea, the old man said with a smile, "I'm sorry to make you laugh. Although I'm so rich now and live in such a big manor, I used to live on a gun when I was young."

Speaking of this, the old man became interested. He began to talk about his own business story.
