Prologue
I was surprised when I found myself in a white room, a delivery room to be exact. I was in a hospital. I saw a doctor and some nurses who were busy on whatever they're doing. They were all around a woman who seemed to be giving birth. I tried to peek but I was so small I could hardly see, but then there it was! A lucky space for an 8 year old boy has been given.
I saw a woman, who has these ugly scar, that almost occupied half of her face, but the fact that she's beautiful cannot be denied even by those marks. I did not really mind the scar yet there was something familiar with the woman that I can't get my eyes off her, and when I realized the reason, disbelief was an understatement.
The woman, who was giving birth, was my Mother!
Chapter 1
When I was seven, my mother told me that she had been into an accident that leads her to get those scar and also leads to my father's death.
How? I've got no idea, every time I try to ask her about what happened, she would seem to be in so much pain which peek my curiosity even more.
I would have pressed the subject if it weren't for my Uncle Jonathan who was a dear friend of my parents. One afternoon he told me half of the story, maybe because in some point he believed that I deserve an explanation for what happened.
He explained the reason how my Mom experienced all those hardships after Dad passed away, and how she overcome those, and how I made her life worth living again. She almost gave up, but only to the realization that my dad would want her to go on with life.
Uncle Jonathan and the others were there for her also, he told me how tough a woman, mom is, and I never have been prouder of her.
She unselfishly set aside all her pain to give me all the love in this world. And with that I dropped the subject. Uncle Jonathan's explanation was enough for me.
Seeing her right now in this four corner of a room and writhing with pain, the word "loving" seemed to be a lacking adjective. She's gone through those emotional and physical pain, just for me to see the world. That's more than love.
Then I heard my Mom gasped for air, while the doctor press her to push.
And there, as she gripped her hands into the headboard grills, she pushed hard, and a loud cry echoed in the whole room. I was frozen.
"It's a boy!" said the doctor. I saw the baby came out and saw how my Mom struggled from labor, I mean I knew she was giving birth but I left something behind about this little piece of revelation. I am an only child, which means this baby, was me!
I was confused for awhile, and then finally accepted that this baby must be really, me.
At that moment I don't know what's more shocking, seeing your mother giving birth,? Or seeing yourself get pushed out from your mother's womb? Really it sends goose bumps!
The nurse gave the baby to my mother and asked her what would she name her son? I was taunted to run in my mother's side and see for myself my own self as a baby, but as I tried to move my feet, I felt something from within, a reaction that seemed to say, "it's time to go back" and from that moment I knew I was about to disappear. But before I totally vanish, I heard my mom's voice,
"Michael, for you are my angel"
Hello there! I am Michael Fortalejo and I might look ordinary but I'll tell you, my story is more eyes widening than your 100 carat diamond. Well it was too dumb well to say but actually it's contrary to the "WOW" word. My life is a one heck of an adventure. Probably you can consider it absurd or crazy or whatever you like to call it, what I know is that my story is much more distinct than yours.
At the age of 8, I found out that I can Time Travel. Yep. Time travel! Does it sound fun to you? Well I guessed you should try changing your mind!
(I mean literally)
My first time travel experience was when my mother gave birth to me. That moment was very emotional, because I saw how my mom goes through the pain of pushing me from her womb out in this world.
(Does it sound funny?) Well definitely not for me, because at that moment I learned how much she loved me.
My time travelling doesn't merely happen every day or every week, actually it doesn't have an exact time, but what's accurate is, I always get in trouble.
Some weeks after the delivery room incident, I accidentally time travelled myself into Bianca's 7th birthday, she was my classmate, since kinder and I tell you we are not in good terms, and when I popped in their house, I unintentionally popped in her very spot making her a little off balance and tada! She ate the cake all by herself (and I mean to say FACE.ON.THE.CAKE).
Everyone was holding their breath not to laugh, including me, knowing Bianca's temper, she can put down even a bull, oh well a little bit exaggeration still, possible.
Now Bianca is not as sweet as her name sounds, with her stout body and pigtail hair, she looks like a sus crofa (pink pig with curly tail) plus the angry icing face, wow! She would have won the funniest/scariest award of the year. And as her eyes darted on mine and as genius as I am, I started running.
Well it's not the most heroic thing to do, but hey! It was my life at stake! I couldn't risk it to a mad ex convict looking fat kid! so when I saw an enclosed place, I tried to hide there and tried my best to travel back myself, at first it was not working but after some more tries, when Bianca almost got me, I was able to vanish myself!
