OFFICIALLY, A COUPLE

Lacey loves garden, mentioning it, I just can't help remembering my Mom.

Before the day of my proposal came, we have already prepared everything. Bea and Justin already contacted one of the managers in the hotel for the whole set up. I told Lacey we'll go out of town, as that's what we usually do anyways for the last months as friends. When I told her it would be in Tagaytay she giggled with excitement, I did the same, though mine has a mixture of nervousness.

When we arrived in Tagaytay Twin Lakes, she was mesmerized by how beautiful the place was, even I, must agree that the place was fairylike. "It's beautiful" she said still looking at the place with amazement. But I was more than amazed, seeing the person I love, smile.

It kind of makes me a little bit emotional, "Yes it's beautiful" I said, still looking at her. She looked at me and smiled shyly, my heart stopped for awhile. Only her can make that. Only her, can take my breath away.

We strolled a little, and just talk stuffs. It's one of the simple things I love doing with her. It felt like, she is enough. My contentment resides with her.

We came back inside the hotel and I got a message from Bea that everything is ready. 'Okay this is it' I thought to myself. I took a deep breath and told Lacey I'll be back. She waited in the lobby, and there Bea met her. Knowing her I bet she's shocked to see her friend.

Justin on the other hand helped me changed in tux and boy was I nervous. After I changed and took the bouquet that I'll give her, I went in the garden to see the set up, it was grand.

The Hanging Gardens of Babylon. That was what we had in mind when we requested for the set up. As Lacey was both a garden and history lover. I remembered her once, shoving some picture of the The Hanging Gardens of Babylon in my face, saying "I love this place!, too bad it's nowhere to be found!" I've heard some history facts about it, and she's right I guessed what they have, up until now, are theories where it's really located or if it does exists. But that being true, or not, doesn't matter. I'll give her a new version of The Hanging Gardens of Babylon. Just for her.

The place was full of different flowers, and while she was walking towards me, too stunned to say anything after seeing our friends and me, the song "Kailan" started playing. When they started singing, Lacey looked at me like "what is this all about?" I just shrugged, and she smiled listening and singing along with them too. It's our favorite song. And it speaks my heart for her.

As the song ended, the ladies started pulling her, she looked at me still confused. I smiled at her giving her assurance that everything's going to be fine. The ladies put a hair dress on her, making her looked like a fairy, she was wearing a white dress that compliments to it, they put blindfold on her and guided her towards me.

When they handed her over to me, I felt uneasy, like that feeling when I first started going to school, afraid that my classmates wouldn't like me, it's like that ! But I love Lacey and it's NOW OR NEVER!

I took her blindfold and we locked eyes. I think she is scared and confused, but I assured her everything is okay, I always knew that this woman owns my heart. And will always will.

My best buddies started playing their instruments, I guided her to sit in a chair like that of a Queen's, and I took the guitar and started playing it. The song was "I can wait forever by simple plan" As I sang the lines it felt good, because just like what the song says, "Another day without you with me Is like a blade that cuts right through me but I can wait, I can wait, forever" because when words are not enough, we sing.

When I finished singing she embraced me, and I embraced her too. At that moment it seemed like we're the only ones that matters. I almost forget the reason why we're there. I let go of her a little and started cupping her face. I wiped her tears and smiled at her. I knelt and let go the words I've always wanted to flood out. "Lacey De Silva, would you accept Micheal Fortalejo's heart? although in the first place you already have it? And if you don't want to keep it then I'll just sneak in to your room and hide it in your cabinet." Our friends laughed and Lacey who was also laughing playfully jabbed me in my shoulder "Do I seem to have a choice?" It was my time to laugh, "Yeah, I guess you don't have any choice, after all I don't want my heart back anymore, I want yours and only yours."

The whole squad started cheering, Lacey gave me that tiger look which I always find sexy, and all I could do was grin.

Since she's quiet, I took the opportunity to speak, "Lacey from that day I spilled a juice on your shirt, thanks to that anyways, I get the chance to meet you, - she smiled -and up to now, and tomorrow and until we grow old, I promised to love you forever and that I swore to everyone who witnesses my declaration (I looked at my grinning friends) and to God that you will be the only woman I would offer my heart to, will you be my girlfriend?" She pulled me up, "I know you do, and I love you too" I felt a sting in my eye. "Is that a yes?" I cautiously asked. "Of course, my idiot." she said rolling her eyes. I manage to smile and from that moment we were officially a couple.
