Yvonne Finley frowned, subconsciously looking for the familiar figure in the crowd, but found nothing.
Dax Harrison stepped forward, his gaze seeming to hide something complex as he said, "Let me take you somewhere. Don't worry, there are no ill intentions. It's his compensation to you."
Yvonne remained still, "Where is he?"
Dax pretended to be casual, "He said there's no need for you two to meet and add to your troubles. You should understand."
Yvonne spun on her heel to leave, "I don't need his so-called compensation."
"This is the last thing he can leave you. After this, you will be strangers. Miss Finley, you two should draw a proper conclusion to your relationship," said Dax, having finished his sentence.
Then he opened the car door, "He said if you don't come today, he'll have you brought here."
Yvonne took a deep breath.
Caleb Baker gazed at her clenched fist and covered it with his own, holding it firmly. "We have to get this over with."
