He knew she was upset.

"Wyatt," she clutched the sides of his waist, lifting her face, eyes slightly red, "I want you to kiss me."

"Mhm."

Wyatt gave her a light kiss.

"More."

She wanted comfort, wanted someone's company, wanted to be favored.

She didn't say any of that, only asking him for a kiss.

Wyatt understood, lifted her chin, and kissed her deeply. His breath, warmth, and the slight pain on her lips stopped her from thinking about anything else.

The dock was bustling with people, some stopping to stare.

After a long while, Rae remembered that Wyatt didn't like to do these things in public places.

She clutched his shirt, tugging slightly, to remind him, "Others are watching."

"It doesn't matter."

"Want more?"

Rae nodded honestly.

At this moment, whatever she wanted, Wyatt would give. Kissing was effective—her body wasn't so cold anymore, from her neck to her blushed cheeks, all warmed by Wyatt's touch.
