Coulee walked up to her and leisurely observed her just-woken state, "Go change your clothes, I'll take you somewhere."
Only after Miya Ford had changed did she fully wake up.
She protested, but it lacked force, "I don't want to go out." Especially not with Coulee.
She couldn't even figure out what her relationship with Coulee was. They weren't friends, and she didn't feel like Coulee was pursuing her. She felt like a game NPC with a bug, being 'killed' by Coulee.
Coulee disregarded her refusal, his gaze landing on the note on the coffee table, "Your handwriting is very pretty."
The note contained a list of books she had compiled for Lei.
"Let's go, I'll take you to see some books."
His tone was like he was about to take his cat out for a walk.
Coulee was an enigma, dangerous, and Miya Ford didn't want to have much to do with him, but... she was a book enthusiast, unable to resist the out-of-print "The Manor of Rome" and "Noble."
Coulee took her to Bloomington University.
