Chapter 11 After the Meeting

Emily's dissatisfaction was written all over her face.

It seemed that the first real conversation between her and Auston would end in discord.

Auston stared at Emily calmly with gray-blue eyes.

He whispered, "I’m the big devil, really? Interesting. No one has ever called me like this before."

Emily froze and suddenly realized that she had just spoken out her true feelings.

She couldn't help feeling her scalp tingling.

The man in front of her seemed to be able to easily make her angry.

But in the current situation, if she said something soft, it seemed that she had lost.

Even if this man was her future boss.

Even if they didn't fight for anything.

"Then there is one now."

The atmosphere became more and more tense. Emily stiffened her back and found that she seemed to be at a disadvantage in losing momentum.

Just when Emily thought Auston would ask the security to drive her out, the man unexpectedly forgave Emily's words.

Perhaps creatures like humans were always curious about the unknown things.

This principle was also strangely appropriate for people.

He stood up and reached out his hand politely. "Then, welcome to Cavendish group, Miss Copper."

He called Emily Miss, not lady, or Mrs...

The Kliman family couldn't wait to announce that the heir was as soon as being married.

Emily looked at Auston again and found that she was much calmer than before.

"... Miss Copper, it's hard to imagine."

Hedda, who was responsible for taking her to get familiar with the company, looked at Emily as if he was looking at a valiant dragon slaughtering warrior.

"You have a good time with the president."

The president Office was soundproof, but the door was not closed tightly.

Unfortunately, Hedda heard a little when he sent the coffee.

Was the taste of the rich so strange now?

Auston didn't want those soft women like rabbits.

He looked at the woman with interest, who was obviously like a hedgehog.

Emily frowned and keenly realized that there was something hidden in words.

"I don't understand what you mean."

Hedda shrugged.

"Nothing."

The last person who was disrespectful to Auston had been sent to the famous Anderson psychiatric hospital.

And it was hard to know whether she was put in there because she was sick, or if she was put in there then she was sick.

"When will you come to work?"

He handed Emily a stack of documents.

"You know, we are really busy. It's difficult to push the experiment forward now."

The root cause of cancer was that the cells were out of control during the division and reproduction.

The cancer cells kept on increasing, infiltrating and transferring to the normal tissues and organs.

Cavendish had been trying to develop a targeting medicine to completely suppress the mutation of the cancer gene.

While walking, Emily looked through the materials.

She tutted twice and thought, "Mr. Auston is really an ambitious man."

He wanted to conquer the biggest problem in the world in one go and increase the human's lifespan to at least two hundred years.

"In my opinion, the information here is only a superficial one."

It was just a basic principle.

It was inevitable for Emily to be harsh when it came to professional knowledge.

"How dare you say that your experiments have begun?"

Hedda touched his nose. Having worked for Auston for so many years, he was really good at comforting such talented emotions.

"Oh, my God. So we invited you here."

He smiled and complimented, "Can you go through the entry formality tomorrow? There is a meeting hosted by the president in the afternoon."

"Of course..."

When Emily just started, a pleasant female voice came from behind them.

"Hedda, is Auston busy now? I have something important to talk to... Who is this?"

"This is the doctor of pharmacy we hired, Miss Emily Copper, and this is the president's life assistant, Nancy Martin."

At the moment when the two slender hands clasped, Emily's keen perception arrived. The life assistant miss who suddenly appeared might not like her as much as she showed.

Besides, why did a subordinate call Cavendish's name?

Well, whatever. It had nothing to do with her anyway.

Emily walked out of the Cavendish company building with her bag. She had things more important to do today.

As soon as she started the car, the phone rang.

Emily frowned and glanced at it. It was Albert's.

When she went out this morning, she learned that the Kliman family had announced her marriage with Albert without her permission.

Emily didn't want to talk to him anymore.

She turned off her phone and started the car.

The silver gray car was stopped in front of a two-story building. She looked at the brown wooden door, with a faint hint of nostalgia in her eyes.

Emily got off the car and knocked on the door.

A gentle voice came from inside.

"Oh, it's coming. Stop knocking."

The door opened and Aunt Gina looked at Emily in surprise.

"Oh my God! My baby, I was wondering when you would come to see me."

Because he helped Emily go abroad and refused to tell her phone number, Aldrich hadn't contacted her for a long time.

She didn't know her niece had come back until she saw the news this morning.

Emily threw herself into the arms of Aunt Gina.

"A few days ago, I wanted to see you. How have you been these years? I really miss you."

Just like the day when she was in bed, Aunt Gina gently stroked Emily's back.

"I miss you too, my child."

Aunt Gina prepared a cup of black tea and placed it in front of Emily.

"If I had known you would come, I would have baked some small cakes. They were your favorite food when you were a child."

Emily said with a smile, "Then you can roast it tomorrow. I'll come back tomorrow with Ice."

Speaking of Ice, Aunt Gina was even happier. "Yes, you are right. You should take her to see me. Last time I saw her, she was still a baby."

Aunt Gina then said worriedly, "I saw the news this morning. About the engagement, do you really want to..."

The Kliman family wouldn't allow the mistress to have an illegitimate daughter.

"No."

Emily said firmly, "Don't even think about it."

She asked Andre to investigate the Kliman family, and there should be news soon.

All kinds of illogical things.

Aunt Gina didn't feel relieved because of Emily's words.

"If you can't handle it, just tell me."

Emily nodded with gratitude. The existence of Aunt Gina in the world must be the greatest comfort for her to come to this strange world.

Of course, there were also Ice and her friends.

Just then, Emily's phone rang wildly.

Max cried, "Oh, I'm sorry, Emily. Ice is missing. I can't find her."
