When Emily appeared in the hall on the first floor, she happened to meet Albert.
When the man saw her, he immediately grabbed Emily's wrist.
"Where have you been? Do you know how many people are inside? If this marriage gets wrong, it's not only a shame for our Kliman family."
Emily pulled her aching wrist out of his hand.
She said coldly, "Didn't you say it would begin soon? Hurry up and go in."
Shame?
Well, it would only be the Kliman family that would be humiliated.
After all, it was not her who slept with her sister while engaged to her.
Seeing Emily and Albert come in hand in hand, the guests immediately stopped talking.
They couldn't tell how they felt.
Relieved, or disappointed not to see the fun?
Maybe they had both of them.
The emcee's warm voice rose on the stage.
"Welcome to the engagement party of Mrs. Emily Copper and Mr. Albert Kliman."
Albert held up his arm. Enduring the nausea, Emily smiled sweetly and held his arm.
