Chapter 36 Fire

"Well done!" She praised Kate.

"This woman is always so stupid. She will believe whatever others say. I've brought her here, and the next thing has nothing to do with me, right? Then I'll go first. You have to be 'good' to her!"

Kate said insidiously with her chin up. Julia raised her eyebrows and nodded.

"You can go back now. The payment will be transferred to your account."

She looked at Ashley and made sure that she fainted, then she turned around and left. When the door was just half opened, she also suffered a blow.

Julia squatted down and tore up the contract about the reward she carried with her.

How could she leave such obvious evidence!

"Miss Julia, what should we do with this woman?"

"Take her anywhere you like and teach her a lesson. Just let her not dare to make trouble."

After the door was closed again, Julia walked around her and pinched her face. Well, this face was so attractive to Lucas. "What am I worse than her?"

"Ashley, you are the real daughter of the Johnson family. So what? They don't love you. They just use you as a tool. You were carrying Jake's baby. You should thank me for making the baby unable to be born. By the way, the Lucas family hasn't admitted you yet. But why? Why does Lucas have to marry you! Today you're at my mercy. A fierce light burst out from her eyes. Julia tied her to the chair in person. She put her beside a pile of wood and lit a fire.

The fire spread little by little. Julia walked out proudly. The temperature in the warehouse rose slowly. Soon, Ashley felt something but found herself tied to a chair and unable to move. There was no one around her.

The wood behind her was burning. She struggled to roll aside before she dodged, but the door was tightly closed.

"Anyone here? Help! Help!"

Ashley shouted loudly, but there was so remote that almost no one would pass by here.

The fire was getting stronger and stronger. She felt that her skin was about to burn out. "No! I can't die! I want to live!"

With such belief, Ashley wanted to find something sharp and cut off the rope on his body first.

The servant was still trying to call Lucas, but no one answered.

Ashley has not been sent back. She had no choice but to call Bruce as time went by.

He answered the phone!

"Doctor Bruce, something is wrong. Mrs. Ashley was taken away by Miss Kate. She hasn't come back yet!"

At first, he didn't recognize that it was the voice of the Lucas family's servant. He didn't react until the servant said the two words "Mrs. Ashley".

"Don't worry. Where is Mr. Lucas?"

"Mr. Lucas didn't answer the phone. I don't know if it's inconvenient for him to work, so I have to call you first. Maybe you can help me?"

The servant's voice sounded very anxious. Before Lucas went out, he had repeatedly told her to take good care of Ashley, but now she had lost her. What should she do?

Bruce frowned. He was in his own psychological consulting room. He thought about it for a while. It could be a big deal or a small problem, and Ashley was in that situation now.

"Okay, I see. You can think of other ways at the same time. I'll go to find Mr. Lucas."

"Thank you, Doctor Bruce!"

Without further ado, he drove towards the Lucas group. As expected, he was told that Lucas was in a meeting. No wonder he didn't answer the phone.

He explained his purpose for coming here. Just in time, Martin came down for business, so he hurried forward to explain.

"What? Mrs. Lucas is missing? I'll tell Mr. Lucas right now!"

Martin was in a hurry, and Bruce followed him. Lucas withdrew from the meeting after hearing that. He immediately came out and asked Bruce what was going on.

"When did it happen? Who took Ashley away?"

"I don't know. It was your servant who told me this. I think it must be a woman named Kate."

"Kate?"

He immediately thought of this woman who had a grudge against Ashley. It seemed that there would be no other woman except her.

He immediately asked Martin to get the surveillance video. He found that Kate drove to an abandoned warehouse today. Without saying anything, Lucas rushed out and drove to the warehouse.

There were many red lights and a traffic jam on the way. He was so anxious that he ran the red lights several times when there were few cars.

The fire in the warehouse had covered the whole area. A dull thunder was heard, and it seemed to rain outside. Ashley struggled painfully and laughed with tears.

She tried her best to escape, but the rain was small that couldn't extinguish the fire at all. The wind it brought even made the fire stronger.

The unpleasant smoke penetrated her nose and she coughed violently.

"Ahem... Help..."

"Damn it! I can't believe my eyes!" Lucas exclaimed inwardly. He finally arrived and saw what was going on. The flames were burning high in the sky. As long as he got closer, he would feel like they were roasted.

"Ashley!"

The fire was so fierce that no one responded to him. He got out of the car, wet himself with some bottles of water, and then broke in regardless of anything.

Bruce and Martin came later. Fortunately, they called the police. Seeing the situation, they also called the fire department.

"Mr. Lucas rushed in. What should we do? It's so hot!"

They only saw his back when they arrived.

"We can't pull him back. Try to reduce the fire first! Is there a fire extinguisher in the car?"

"Yes, a small one."

Bruce asked him to bring it here. The size was no big deal. It was better than nothing.

Lucas rushed into the warehouse. His clothes were almost burnt and his skin was very uncomfortable. But he had no time to care about it. He opened the warehouse's gate and ran to untie the rope as soon as he saw Ashley lying on the ground.

"Wake up, Ashley! Don't sleep! I'm here!" She couldn't fall asleep at this time. He wrapped her with his wet clothes and wanted to take her out.

Before he could run out, a beam was about to fall from the ceiling. He pressed her under his body. He felt pain and tried to rush out of the sea of fire with the last bit of strength.

"Ashley, you must live well..."

"Mr. Lucas!"

Lucas came out with her in his arms. As soon as he came out, he knelt and fainted. Bruce and Martin wanted to go over with wet clothes but were stopped by the firefighters.

"Leave them to us."

The firefighters took them to the safe area. They were both in a coma and covered with injuries.

The people in the hospital hurriedly lifted them to the ambulance and whistled to the hospital.

"Let's go to the hospital too." Said Bruce.
