Chapter 16 Let Bygones Be Bygones

Half a month passed quickly.

Freda found an opportunity to get the Frethy Jade from Zed.

She asked Rex to meet Zed.

In the same private room.

Zed came in with the Frethy Jade.

Freda had already completed a file of herself as a dead person.

The two handed over the document and bracelet at the same time.

Feeling a little excited, Freda slowly opened the box and held Frethy Jade in her hand.

The warm touch of the jade was like her grandfather's hug, bringing endless memory to Freda.

Zed also opened the file.

The content made Zed's eyes redden.

Freda was dead.

At that time, he was too young to know whose child was his playmate under the tree. He only knew that she called Freda Ivans.

When he came back later, he heard that the Ivans family's house was on fire and Freda moved away.

He had never thought that his obsession had left the world.

Zed's sadness was reflected in Freda's eyes.

If Freda hadn't remembered whether she knew zed, she wouldn't have told Zed so easily that she was dead.

"Where is her tomb?"

"The Montevo Cemetery."

Zed took out the jade and left quietly.

Freda got what she wanted, but she was a little sad.

She wore the bracelet and was more eager to buy the Manhattan Villa back.

But when she arrived at the villa, she found that the door had been opened.

She wanted to buy the house, but Rachel couldn't find out who the owner was.

Freda took the opportunity to hide in the dark and planned to see who the owner was so that she could take the house back.

As soon as Zed left, he came to the Montevo Cemetery.

He didn't want to believe that his little girl had left until he saw the photo on the tombstone.

Zed had to accept the fact that his light had disappeared.

Instead of going back to the old house, Zed left the Montevo Cemetery and came to the Manhattan Villa.

Touching the tree under which they had met in the past, Zed was immersed in his memories

At the age of twelve, the sudden death of his parents was unacceptable grief to Zed at that time. Everyone was dealing with the funeral of his parents and did not pay much attention to the child who already had the awareness at that time.

His crying didn't draw people's attention.

Until under a tree, a beam of light directly shone on his face.

The girl looked like the sun.

Unfortunately, Zed left before he could say goodbye.

When he came back, the girl was gone and the house was sold because the owner left.

Zed begged Master Smith to buy the house. He had been waiting for Freda for so many years.

However, he couldn't see her any longer.

It was getting late.

After missing Freda, Zed slowly locked the door and left.

Freda in the dark widened her eyes in an instant.

She didn't expect that the owner of the villa now was Zed Smith?!

There was a touch of red in the corner of Zed's eyes when Freda saw him come out alone.

It was rare for her to have a fluctuation in her heart. Although she didn't remember what story she had with Zed, she could feel his emotion for Freda. It was easy to forget, but Zed always remembered her.

With a sigh, she turned around and was about to leave, but as soon as she moved, she was caught by Zed.

He turned around vigilantly and saw the big eyes of Freda.

Their four eyes met.

Freda was shocked, but she couldn't explain why she was here. After thinking for a while, she wanted to leave in a hurry.

But Zed, who stayed there, sensed something different and stopped her.

"Miss. Anna."

Then she turned around and replied, "What a coincidence, Mr. Smith."

"Yes, it's such a coincidence that I think Miss Anna followed me here."

"No, I just want this house." Freda thought.

Seeing that she didn't say anything, Zed began to doubt her motivation. "What are you doing here, Miss. Anna?"

"I... I just have a friend nearby."

Zed frowned and thought, "A friend suddenly?"

They suddenly stopped talking and Freda looked at Zed. She realized that if she continued to pursue the house, she would probably expose herself in front of this person.

It seemed that the house was still in Zed's hands and she could rest assured. Thinking of this, Freda said, "I just came to see my friend and happened to come here. I'm sorry to bother Mr. Smith. I'm leaving now."

"This is where Freda used to live."

Zed didn't respond to Freda, but answered.

"Oh, I know. It's written on your document," said Freda.

"Why are you here?"

"I just come to see a friend."

Zed's question made Freda feel a little helpless. "Mr. Smith, the old friend is gone. We can't cling to the past. You'd better move on."

Zed was confused and didn't know why Freda said so.

Until Freda pointed at the corner of his eye to signal him. Only then did Zed realize that he had cried just now.

"Mr. Smith's friendship is admirable, but I think Miss. Ivans doesn't want you to be sad."

Knowing that Freda was comforting him, it was rare for him to show weakness, so he said softly, "Thank you. I know."

Then Freda left with a smile.

Zed didn't ask her to stay, but looked at her back.

On the way back to the old house, Zed calmed down and suddenly had an inexplicable guess in his heart.

When he first cooperated with Anna, she behaved strangely when she saw the document, then she wanted to get Frethy Jade, and now he saw Anna in the villa.

Was there really such a coincidence?

Zed suddenly realized that Anna must have something to do with the Ivans family!

He quickly took out his phone and asked Secretary White, "A few days ago, you said someone wanted to buy the Manhattan Villa? Who is that?"

Secretary White was stunned by the question and answered, "Rachel from Hydra. She is looking for the owner of the villa."

Miss. Anna wanted the villa.

This made Zed more determined to guess that Anna had a close relationship with the Ivans family. Anna was young. If Freda grew up, would she be at such an age?

Zed suddenly felt as if he had grasped a clue, feeling nervous and uneasy.

As for why Anna said that Freda was dead, Zed gave himself a reason of course. He had a preference toward Anna that he didn't even notice.

In order to verify his idea, Zed asked Secretary White to check the background of Anna and why she must get Frethy Jade.

He hoped that the truth could be as he wished and that his girl did not sleep in that cold tomb forever.
