Aaliyah is an orphan living in an orphanage since she was two months old and has been raised by Madea who takes her as her own daughter. By her side is her childhood friend, Savannah who lives a luxurious life with her divorced father however,she has no idea where or who her mother is. After receiving a scholarship award from the government, Aaliyah and Savannah are enrolled in one of the best and most expensive colleges in town. There,they meet Quan who becomes Aaliyah's boyfriend and CJ his best friend who becomes Savannah's talkative buddy. During their college romance, Aaliyah faces persecution from Cassandra who likes Quan and she keeps taunting Aaliyah about her financial situation but Savannah stands up for her best friend. Quan handles Cassandra in a way that she will never mock Aaliyah again. During the college prom, Quan masters the courage to tell Aaliyah how he feels about her. Two months later, Quan requests that his girlfriend shows him her home but Aaliyah refuses because she worries that Quan might be embarrassed. 5 years after graduating from college, Aaliyah and Quan are still together with their best friends. Quan and CJ are living in their own apartment, haven't found stable jobs yet but are working as hotel attends. Aaliyah has a stable job as an actor's personal assistant while Savannah is working in her father's big firm. Through thick and thin, the four friends stay by each other's side. Seeing how much Quan's parents call him lazy, Aaliyah decides to write multiple application letters to different hospitals without Quan's knowledge and for sure,Quan gets a job as a doctor but his boss Stella falls for him. When she meets Aaliyah, Stella is filled with hatred for her and she tries her best to make Quan hate dump Aaliyah. Aaliyah starts falling ill  and she finds out she has an illness which she hides from everyone. Quan later gets to know of the illness and he sets out to fulfill Aaliyah's biggest wish.

It's so Hard to Say Goodbye

Seeing that it is impossible to Vail Quan out without any connections, Aaliyah and Savannah go behind Quan and CJ's backs and enlists Quan's parents help. When Quan's parents get to know what happened,his mother gets a panic attack but she gets well. His father gets upset at the woman and the police, 


" Who is it that dared to lie against my son?! Have him arrested and refuse to grant him bail! Don't worry Aaliyah,I will make sure she pays for her stupidity,loses her job,and so will the police men!" He gets up, taking Aaliyah and Savannah along in his car. 


When Quan's dad gets to the station,all the policemen start saluting him. He gets to the inspectors desk and reprimands him for arresting his son without proof. As a way of making the inspector pay for his rude behavior towards them the previous night, Savannah tells Quan's father everything, 


" This man also vowed to make sure Quan doesn't get bail" Savannah adds. 


The inspector oders Quan to be released immediately. The lady then comes in. Without looking at Quan's father's face, she tells him that Quan won't be released until he confesses and she says so. Out of anger,Quan's father turns around and he meets the lady eye to eye and then laughs with ease. Soon, the lady goes on her knees and starts asking for forgiveness from Quan's father. Quan's dad explains everything to the girls, how he helped her when she was stranded and needed help. He fires her and takes everything she had away from her and does the same to the police inspector, 


" Am taking everything away from you not because you wronged me but because you have a dark heart and you'll do the same to any other helpless man! And you inspector...it's because of people like you that innocent lives suffer,so how about you taste suffering for a while" Quan's dad takes him and the girls away. Quan gets home,takes a shower and gets something to eat. Quan's mom comes to see her son and to make sure he's alright. Later in the evening, Quan's parents leave and go back to their house. Aaliyah is left puzzled so she can't help but ask Quan about him and his parents relationship,why he's left to struggle when his father is such an influential and rich man. Quan tells Aaliyah everything she need to know without holding back, 


" You see my parents love me so much but they want what's best for me,am not living a luxurious life because they want me to do things on my own and not have to depend on their wealth and I agree with them. I didn't want to be my parents boy,I want to have a stand on my own" 


Aaliyah gets so proud of Quan for his vision ambition and promises to help him with it.
