Mark of Aurelion

Seeing Thomas dash Bryson began to cast his spell, a white deer began to materialize behind him with each rune he completed, just as Thomas reached him the White Deer image was completed.

The White Deer shone with a bright light, almost like he was a lighthouse in the middle of a night in the ocean, when the light reached the soldiers in the formation, the light calmy began to revolve around them, calming and reinvigorating them.

Thomas had a dark look on his face as he slashed towards Bryson who brandished his axe and paired the attack easily, Thomas was about to slash his katars towards him once again when he felt the light slightly burning his skin.

Thomas jumped back taking distance from the light as he observed it. His blood mist was sizzled when in contact with the light, however, Thomas surprise didn't end here, as he looked towards his junior brother fighting against the soldier he noticed how the light, not only, affected his blood mist, it suppressed his physical strength too.

Thomas knew that he couldn't let this spell last any longer, as it would severely weak not only his junior brother, but, himself too. Thomas dashed towards Bryson again, but, this time the blades of his katars liquified as he spun in a circle, the blades transformation made them more like a whip than anything else, the whip-like blades revolved rapidly as Thomas spun creating a red whirlpool around him.

Bryson lifted his axe as he kept making runes, the deer flashed once again the light around Bryson gathered in a small ball just above his axe. Bryson brandished his axe once again, splitting the white ball in half.

As the ball was split in half a wave of white light rushed out of it, when the wave reached Thomas, he and his blades started to slow down, Thomas frowned as he tried to resit the light wave, yet, he was slowing down bit by bit.

Thomas clenched his teeth, Bryson's fighting style was getting on his nerves, yet, what truly infuriated Thomas was the way that Bryson looked at him. Bryson's gaze at him was full of pity. Thomas kept slashing towards the light waves coming at him with frenzied eyes.

-" It's quite the pity that someone with your talent will have such a pointless death." Bryson's voice was low as if he was talking to himself, yet, what he said reached Thomas.

-" Pointless death? Is avenging a disciple's death pointless?" Thomas anger only grew as he heard Bryson.

-" Your disciple must have been quite the talented youth too, yet, this doesn't change the fact that his death, your death, and their death will be pointless." Bryson closed his eyes as he continued. " The Heigong won't obtain the treasure here."

Thomas was confused as Bryson mentioned a treasure here, he looked towards Brent with a frown, he didn't know if what Bryson said was true, yet, if they came here for a treasure this would explain why Edward was missing since the being of the mission.

-" Who cares about this treasure? We came here to annihilate the enemies of the Heigong!" Thomas gathered every bit of strength he had and made a dash towards Bryson, he crossed his two katars and aimed for Bryson's head.

Bryson still had his eyes closed as Thomas approached, only opening them as he paired the attack with his axe. Bryson stared at Thomas eyes closely. -" And how that is going? Jeffrey is alive, as I already confirmed it, so the group that you sent there failed." Bryson's calm eyes made Thomas frown. " And now, all you will die. How many of us did you kill? Maybe the other group of the Eternal Sun Sect is dead, however, how many more of the Heigong will die?"

Bryson's words hit Thomas hard, he knew that he was telling the truth. While he didn't want to back down, he first thought that Brent would pull back after knowing that they were outnumbered, yet, Brent didn't even hesitate to start the battle. Doubts started to fill Thomas mind, however, he kept attacking, falling for Bryson's mental games would be his downfall.

High up in the sky there was a gigantic sun and a small sphere of blood, the contrast of size couldn't be any higher, but, if anyone looked carefully they would know that the small blood sphere contained way more power than the sun.

Solar flares kept pouring out of the sun, scorching the air all around, yet, the blood sphere held strong. Elias had a frown as he looked at it, he knew that this was just the beings of his trouble.

Every bit of damage that Elias caused to the sphere was quickly repaired, sometimes from the smalls holes in the sphere, he could take a look inside it, only to see Brent curled in the fetal position, as if he was in his mother's womb, strands of blood-red qi connected him with the sphere.

-" What an esoteric spell, the blood embryo is truly a one-of-a-kind spell." Elias finally ceased attacking the spell, attacking now would only waste energy and time that would be better used preparing for the incoming battle.

Elias's chest began to shine a bright yellow, a sun tattoo could be seen under his robes, the sun behind him started to disappear, and the energy from it began to flow towards Elias tattoo.

A small eyeball appeared on the blood sphere as it observed Elias's transformation with interest.

-" A mark of Aurelion? Quite the surprise indeed." A gruesome and raspy voice resonated from the sphere. " Having such a branding on your body, how is that different from being a mere slave?"

As Elias heard the voice he opened his eyes, his previous green eyes now were golden yellow, and his irises were in form of suns now. -" A patchwork that could barely be considered human, and you still are daring enough to call me a slave?" The energy from the tattoo kept transforming Elias. His body was now covered by a thin layer of light almost like an armor, on his hand white aura formed a curved log bow.

Elias created an arrow of Qi in his left hand and nocked it, the arrow flew straight towards the eye on the sphere. As the arrow approached it, the sphere suddenly burst open, spraying blood all over the sky.

From the inside of it, an angel-like figure with 3 pairs of wings appeared, a spear was attached to his right forearm, and Brent's face was covered by a mask with the face of a lion and a horse on each side. The blood mist that revolved around him started to turn black like a shadow.

Brent lifted his index fingers, making the now black mist form a wall in front of him, as the arrow hit the wall, black and white lighting started to spread all around. The arrow slowly started to turn black as it made contact with the black wall and slowly began to dissipate.

-" Truly a foul being, cultivating the blood of an Apostle of Decay?" Elias had disgust in his eyes as he looked towards Brent's transformation. " This makes me wonder, with the Heigong current state, getting blood of beasts like this must be hard, right?"

-" Nothing too troublesome, we didn't decay that much yet. And should you be so worried about our state?" Brent observed the sun engraved on Elias's chest. " How much more will the Sun Disk last? Two Generations? I hope that the Eternal Sun Sect doesn't fade away too quickly."

Elias frowned as he nocked another arrow on his bow, Brent's words hit a sore spot, the depleting energy of the sun disk is, after all, the biggest worry for the top echelons of the Eternal Sun Sect.

Elias shot another arrow, yet this time the arrow split into a thousand smaller ones, the arrows rained down on Brent who swept his hand, making the black mist revolve around him. Not giving him any more time to react, Elias kept shooting without stopping.

Numerous arrows showered Brent without stop, his black mist couldn't keep up with the damage and shrank in size. Inside the black mist, Brent thrust his spear, sending a ray of black aura forward, the ray cleared some of the arrows coming his way, opening the path for him to dash straight at Elias.

Brent swept his spear as he reached Elias, who in turn clasped his hand and conjured a shield in his front. -" Eternal Sun Defensive Arts, Aegis Solaris. Eternal Sun Offensive Arts, Solaris Eruption." Elias quickly cast another spell in succession, he wanted to force Brent back with his second spell.

Rays of sun energy started to flow out of Elias Shield, one of Brent's left wings was hit and was burned completely, forcing him to back down, yet, before he could regenerate his wing. Elias already had conjured another spell. -" Sol Omnia Regit." Just like before a gigantic sun appeared on Elias's back, however, this time the sun looked more vivid.

Brent was about to take even more distance when he noticed that the space around him started to contort, making moving inside the sun domain harder. After struggling for a few seconds, Brent thought that he finally reached a safe distance, but, he heard Elias shout once again as he finished another spell.

-" Eternal Sun Offensive Arts, Solaris Extinction."
