Dressed to kill or something else.

"You look great. He won't know what to do with himself."

"Yes, Ally you look amazing."

"Remember the plan. If asked, you're dressed like this in case Her Highness called you to attend court."

"I can't wait to see the look on his face when he sees you. He will be head over heels in love."

Giggling ensued as all the Ladies admired their handy work. Allison stood before a large mirror. Her cheeks flushed because of the teasing of her fellow maids. She could hardly recognize the woman in the mirror.

Allison wore an exquisite gossamer gown. The navy blue gown was translucent around the arms and shoulders. From her ears hung a pair of sapphire drop earrings that complimented her gown. The handmaids had done up Allison's hair, with only a single tassel of her brunette locks resting comfortably on her cheek. The handmaids had also fought for a long time over her makeup. Finally choosing to smokey eyelashes and light pink lipstick to compliment it all.

Allison thou noble-born was very much rough around the edges. While her siblings were much more refined she enjoyed nature and being outdoors. Her mother would often call her a forest pixie. This led to her not minding her appearance as much as her peers. Despite not spending much time on her appearance Allison was truly a beautiful young woman. It was never more evident than now.

When Fate Persephone saw all of this. She couldn't help but believe that maybe The Maker was helping them after all. Her job had become even easier. With all of this hullabaloo going on. Just a little nudge was all it would take for Sophia's plan to come through.

Allison took a pendant with a small chain from the nearby bureau. Inside the pendant was a picture of her late mother Victoria. Ally always kept it with her. She gazed into the mirror again, as she fiddled with the pendant between her fingers. As Ally looked herself over one last time a voice came to her mind.

'You look beautiful my little forest pixie'

Ally balked. Her stance became rigid from fright. "Mother," she said louder than she intended to.

The other maids hearing her thought she had a sad memory. After glancing at one another, they rushed over to console her.

"Hey there now. It is no time to be thinking sad things. Your mother would root for you all the way."

"I'm sure she would even bully that poor scientist for making you dress like this just to get his attention", chuckled another.

"So no sad thoughts ok. He will be back soon. We don't want your pesky thoughts ruining your makeup. Off you go. Play with his papers or something and wait for him in that room."

"Blueprints", replied Allison not knowing whether to laugh or cry. She was lost in thought as her fellow maids dragged her to the room that was now Renat's.

'I am sure of it now Mother is watching over me somehow', Allison thought. Her hands clasped the small pendant even tighter.

"In you go", said the maid as they giggled as they shut the door behind her.

Ally was left standing by herself and could only shake her head. Unsure of what to do next.

"Those four are the bane of my existence," she scolded. Sighing she walked over to the scientist's desk. she had spent over an hour there drawing the image that was branded on her mind. Other than the day she became Princess Mairwen's lady in waiting. Allison couldn't think of a happier moment.

She was truly smitten by the young man. If only he felt the same for her. She sat down at the desk when something amazing happened again. Another image began to form in her mind. Like last time it was a portion of the blueprint. Allison waited for the image to become more clear. As it did a voice came to her mind again.

'Good luck, my little pixie I'm rooting for you.'

Renat observed where Brinn would help him move. It was a wide spacious courtyard close to the castle walls that was rarely traveled. It was a bit outdated by the standards of the rest of the castle, but at least the cleaning was maintained. It was a guest house with a hall for small banquets. It was once used to house foreign dignitaries, but now it was left empty. Since the reign of Zyphera, there were no longer any foreign nations. Despite her failings as a Human being. As an Empress, her ruthlessness left her enemies no room for retreat. Unifying the world under one rule. That same rule was now in danger of being split apart at the seams due to her unruly son.

Renat sighed as he overlooked it all. When his mind finally got to the purpose of being here. He couldn't help but be a little more cheerful. Here is where he would build his crowning achievement. The magnum opus of his short 19-year life. It would have taken years of study to achieve what happened in one night. The Fates we're obviously on his side. Lending him such inspiration. Though not all of the knowledge stuck. It was enough.

His flyer would be a thing of legend. Maybe one day it might even be able to hold up to five people. Renat had many wonderful ideas. One was to add explosive balls to a compartment on the bottom of his flyer. He could imagine flying over the Gnomes and dropping a few explosives on top of their heads. Based upon the blueprints he was sure it wouldn't be able to fly as fast as a dragon. That was hardly a weakness because few could. The main shortcoming as it was powered by the legs of the pilot and passenger.

Renat's continued his musing he wondered if he could implement a solution that would allow one to control the difficulty of one's pedaling. The more power one wanted to transfer the harder it was to pedal. This would be used for the high-speed escape as well as taking off. once in the air pedaling shouldn't be as hard. he needed a way to adjust it so it is easier for the occupants.

While Renat was musing Brinn had been talking. She had listed off all the things he should and should not do. He had drowned most of it out. This is why he had a swollen head. She had hit him quite a few times to keep his attention. Though for her all her effort he still went on with his musings. He hid his lack of attention with the occasional grunt or nod. When her tirade was finally over. They left together. Brinn promising to move him early tomorrow. Tonight he would stay with her again. Much to Renat's disappointment.

After dropping him off Brinn went to find Alaron. She needed to convince him to move renat out of her room. She planned to blame it on her maids making the eunuch uncomfortable with their advances. Which ironically was true enough.

Renat entered "his room" for the final time. He closed his eyes as he rested his back against the door and let out a sigh. The next time he left would be for good. In a short two weeks, he would be finished with his flyer. He would then see Mairwen again. He missed the princess dearly. Hopefully, she was alright. a light smile formed on his lips when he tried to imagine her face.

Unfortunately, that image was hastily replaced by another. Renat did not know what was wrong with him. His heart said one thing but his mind another. He frowned and decided he wouldn't think about Mairwen anymore. That way he wouldn't sully his thoughts with another woman. It's was the least he could do for Mairwen's honor to not be a philanderer.

If a certain fate heard this thought they couldn't have been happier. Slowly training the boy to toss thoughts of the Mairwen out from his mind. Valiant was not built in a day, and as the saying goes neither could the boy's feelings be changed so easily. The less he thought of the girl the better. It was as if Sophia was training a dog. She used a newspaper to teach it not to use the bathroom in the house. The dog would get it eventually. In this case, the newspaper was Renat's guilt. His Love was his urge for the bathroom and Mairwen was the house. Such a crude analogy, but an apt description nonetheless. Sophia could only grin at what was about to happen next.
