Chapter 41: Small Parties & Small Weddings

“Mother is so excited. I don’t think I’ve ever seen her this way. She can’t wait to help with the wedding planning” Dylan said, as they drove back to their apartment.

Zoe smiled, and took his hand in hers, but said nothing.

Dylan was happy, and his parents were happy, and she was the odd one out. She didn’t want to ruin it for anyone else. Weddings had always been associated with the bride. But Zoe knew that weddings were a social affair. They were as much for the family as for the bride and groom.

If his mother was this excited over helping them plan the wedding, she didn’t want to upset her or anyone else for that matter.

So, she decided to do her best to enjoy the amazing parties they wanted to give her and to be grateful for it. Some people would love to be rich and have all the money in the world. Some people would love to have a large wedding surrounded by lots of people.

For some reason, she just wasn’t one of them.
