Chapter 43: How Many Cars?

“She is trying to make amends and do something nice for us, Zoe. I know you're still angry and with good reason. But please, let's go today, and try to have a nice time” Dylan said, pleading with her.

Darla had planned an engagement party for them, and she promised Dylan it would be a small event just like they asked for.

Zoe hadn't spoken to his mother since their lunch a few weeks back, and Darla had not tried to reach out to her either.

Dylan had spoken to his parents several times, mostly about how things were going at work, and so forth. Eventually, she asked them to come over for dinner because she wanted to give them a small engagement dinner. After much persuasion, Zoe agreed. But only because she loved Dylan so much, and because she knew it was time to forgive.

If Darla could go out of her way to put together a nice engagement dinner for them and respect their wishes, she could learn to let go of the mention of the prenup.
