The Gingerbread Boy

Gin had no intention of thinking about yesterday's embarrassing incident at all but it kept repeating in her head. She never had a big intention to kill someone but Gin really wanted to kill a woman named Lee Hyo In right now.

Gin stared at the ceiling of her room as she lay on his back, wearing only a knee-length t-shirt. She woke up late today but didn't think to get up just a lil bit. Everything she did on her bed, playing with her cellphone and laptop or occasionally reading a new novel that she has bought online. Since she had a free schedule of two days, Gin really used this opportunity to just be lazy on her beloved bed. She didn't even want to take a shower or change her clothes.

Then the ringing telephone broke the quiet atmosphere. Gin reluctantly answered the phone.

"What?" said Gin lazily.

[Is that a proper greeting when people call you?] a man's deep voice came through Gin's ears.

"It's an exception for you."

[I heard it from Hyo In.]

"There's nothing to worry about," Gin said confidently.

[Are you still acting like a pig?]

Gin raised her eyebrows, saying sarcastically, "Yeah, enough to make a big bowl of steak."

[Your level of shame is increasing day by day.]

"I'm very lazy. I just want to isolate myself from the outside world."

[It would be strange if you said otherwise.]

"If you know why you still ask, you idiot. Is your brain made of melted mozzarella cheese? Ho, considering you seem quite worried about me, how about treating me today at St*rbucks?"

[On your dream.]

TUT.

The discontinuous conversation finally ended without confirmation.

Gin didn't care about that guy's curses. After finally staying in the room the entire time, Gin finally got out of her bed. She brushed her teeth and washed her face then put on a sweater and knee-length denim pants. Being lazy to brush her hair, she just tied her hair, which was like a bird's nest carelessly, and covered it with a cap that color matched with her sweater. After checking up on her looks in the mirror once more, she left her house without the slightest worry that the guy on the phone would come or not.

Star*uck was busy as usual. Gin didn't stand in line but directly went to the vacant seat then sat down there. Acting very relaxed while playing on her cellphone, she had been waiting for 15 minutes but what she was waiting for still did not appear yet.

After 45 minutes, Gin was still waiting and had turned down several people who wanted to sit at her table. Then suddenly a shadow of a person fell on her retina as she looked down on her phone. Before she could raise her head, a gingerbread latte along with a large plate of rainbow cake and vanilla latte cake was put in front of Gin. Gin didn't hesitate to accept these cakes and ate the two cakes in turn.

Han Jun-woo folded one of his legs as he stared in disgust at the shameless person in front of him. The appearance of these two was very contrasting. Just one glance, people already knew that Gin dressed shabbily and recklessly. Meanwhile, Han Jun-woo was wearing a very bright navy blue plaid shirt with the front of the shirt tucked into his jeans. His hair was styled in an attractive way which made him look more charming to a face that was already perfect at all angles.

Gin also looked in disgust at that man. She sneered as she looked up and down, scanning the appearance of that man today.

"You hurt my eyes. What would you do by dressing like that? Date?"

In the same posture, Han Jun-woo did not look at Gin at all, focusing on his cell phone. "It's your appearance that embarrasses me right now. Shut up and eat your cake quickly then get your ass out of here."

"Hey, I've been waiting for you for almost an hour, you f-king jerk. You think you are feeding the dog and then chasing it away after?"

"Not a dog but a pig."

"This bastard..."

Gin wanted to stay a little longer but she could feel the several pairs of girls' eyes glaring at her fiercely. She didn't know why but her institution told her to immediately stop. So she could only hold her anger in her stomach and ate the food impolitely.

Because you think I'm embarrassing then I'd make sure to make you feel that way then, you devil.

After finishing one cake, Gin spoke again, "Hoy Han Jun."

"..."

"Yesterday at the Hyo In's department welcome party, I think I saw someone I knew."

"..."

"I'm not sure either but if I ain't wrong I saw that hoobae. You know the Gingerbread boy."

Han Jun-woo finally responded. He looked at Gin who was patting her stomach with satisfaction.

"That beautiful guy you always stalked in high school and rejected your confession right?"

Gin propped her chin as she continued sipping her drink. "Yep. My first crush."

"You're just a perverted aunt."

"Hey, we're only two years apart."

"So?"

"Nothing. Whether it was him or not, none of my business anyway. I bet he won't remember me either. Many people have confessed their love to him that the numbers can't be counted just with my fingers. So yeah, he won't remember me."

"That's not what I wanted to know," Han Jun said in poker face.

"If you ask me how I feel err let's just say I'm stupid, but mmm I still like him until now," Gin replied while yawning, which made Han Jun doubt her sincerity when she said it.

Han Jun-woo frowned in disliking Gin's stupid behavior. "He's not good enough for you to still think of him for that long. If that's really him, you'll be seeing him a lot from now on. So don't act stupid."

Gin put Junwoo's advice into the right ear and took it out from the left ear. "It's not my fault that he's too pretty that I can't get over him off my head."

"Probably rain hit directed into your brain yesterday so you're even more idiotic."

"Damn Han Jun. Stop offending me."

After a long pointless debate, Jun-woo and Gin left the cafe together. Gin stretched her body like a worm which made Jun-woo take three steps away so people wouldn't notice that he was her friend.

Gin looked up when she saw the sky filled with cloudy clouds. Suddenly she was in a bad mood again. If it wasn't because of the bad weather, Gin wouldn't have had to face that embarrassing situation yesterday.

Gin looked at Jun-woo who was still far away from her. "Whoa, Han Jun, if it's really him, you also think that he doesn't remember me, right?"

Jun-woo looked at Gin with disdain. "Of course. Do you think you are that attractive to make him remember you?"

Gin shrugged and didn't feel offended by that sarcasm. "Just some ridiculous thoughts."

"No need to worry," said Jun-woo, looking into Gin's eyes calmly.

Gin looked back at Jun-woo with a small smile.

"Yeah, it's useless to think about something that clearly has the answer."
