Scyther's Battle, Add Points
"So this is Silkis Town, huh?" As Zaphiel and I strolled in the town, I examined the unimpressive architectures. There were hardly any buildings that were taller than three stories.
"Yeah! This is indeed Silkis Town." Zaphiel nodded. She had been here before when she was a little child, so she had an impression of it already.
"So, should we visit the Pokemon Gym after treating our Pokemons at the Pokemon Center?" I asked Zaphiel.
Our journey to Silkis Town was relatively peaceful. After having our breakfast in the morning, we spent a few hours and arrived in the town before noon. I didn't want to stay long in this town, however. Other than the gym, there weren't many things that we could do.
"Yeah. Let's do that. I really want to attend my first Pokemon Contest in Zhoni City." Zaphiel pulled up her Pokedex and checked the event schedule for Pokemon Contests.
"Alright. We'll head out right after I get my Bug Badge."
As we conversed, Zaphiel and I entered the Pokemon Center.
"I never thought that the bug gym would be so difficult. My Pokemon couldn't even touch the gym leader's Scyther."
"Right, I even have a fire-type Pokemon, but I couldn't beat the gym leader's Pokemon."
"I think the gym has gotten harder. Just today, the gym was challenged four times, but nobody could win."
There were a few kids our age scattered around the Pokemon Center lobby. All of them were talking about how unbeatable the Bug gym is.
"Hey, fellow trainers!" I grabbed everyone's attention after eavesdropping on them.
"Huh?"
"What's wrong?"
"Ack!! What are you doing, Ian!? Let's keep a low profile." Zaphiel shrieked and hid behind my back. She never thought that her traveling partner would suddenly yell right after they enter the Pokemon Center.
I ignored Zaphiel's persuasion and gazed at my reputation points.

"I also have a Scyther! I bet that my Scyther will be even faster than the gym leader's Scyther!" I bragged and placed my arms on my hip. If I was Pinocchio, my nose would have probably extended to one foot.
"Liar!"
"As if! Ms. Sophie's Scyther is extremely fast! You had probably just caught your Scyther in Silkis Forest! How fast can a wild Pokemon be!?"

It is this easy to get points with people around? I smirked. My guess of 'impressing' people was too broad. It seems that I only needed to gain reputation, be it good or bad.
The kids around me showed scornful faces and mocked. They obviously didn't believe that my Scyther is faster.
I didn't care, though. Give me the reputation points! Even if they are bad reputation points, I would still take it. I had to work hard if I wanted to max out my Pokemon and try out all the other things that are on the holographic panel.
"Ian!! Ian!! Stop!!" Zaphiel shook my body back and forth. Her face had already become ruby red.
"I'll first challenge one of you to prove that my Scyther is super fast!" I made a 'come on' gesture and waited for the kids to react.
"I'll challenge you, Ian!" A red-haired boy from the group of kids walked out and stopped in front of me.
"Huh? Do I know you?" I gazed at the red-haired boy.
"How do you not know me, Ian! I am Razor! We're from the same village!" The red-haired boy showed a dumbfounded face. Did Ian have some kind of Amnesia?
"I don't remember you!" I shook my head. I actually didn't know a Razor thanks to not inheriting any memories. Nevertheless, I didn't plan on hiding it. Doing so is just too much work.

"Darn you!! Let's go have a one versus one right now behind the Pokemon Center!" Razor angrily stomped his way towards the Pokemon Center battlefield.
"Ian… I didn't know you were like this?" Zaphiel asked hesitantly. Prior to arriving in the town, she had the impression that Ian Phillips is a nice boy who was good a battling. She didn't think that he would be a boasting braggart who's good at battling! Does he perhaps have a split personality or something!?
Zaphiel couldn't help but look at Ian's head suspiciously.
"Uhm… Just watch." I didn't know how to explain.

Along with the other kids, I arrived at the battlefield. Razor stood on one end while I stood on another.
"I'll be the judge for this battle!" A girl said excitedly went to the referee's usual spot.
"Today, we'll have a one on one Pokemon battle! On one side, is Razor from Orlan village! On the other, is Ian who is also from Orlan village! This battle will go on until either Pokemon is unable to battle! Start!!!" The girl cheered.
I relaxed my muscles and looked at the people by the side. Including Zaphiel, there were five other spectators.
The audience is small, but it's still decent to farm for reputation points.
"Starly, come out!" Razor grabbed the little Pokeball and enlarged it. After throwing, a Starly flew into the air.
"Starly~!"
So he's going for the type advantage right off the bat. I squinted my eyes, flying type Pokemons did have an advantage over bug types. I grabbed Scyther's Pokeball and also summoned it onto the battlefield.
"Scyther!" Scyther slashed its two scythes and readied itself for battle. Although it's not in its optimal state, it had already recovered quite a bit after resting for so long in the Pokeball. Furthermore, the debuff that it had received in its previous battle with Ian had already disappeared.

In my mind, I focused on the holographic panel and saw Scyther's stats. The next moment, I added all of my reputation points onto Scyther's IV speed.

"Scyther?" Scyther glimpsed back at me with a bewildered face. It suddenly felt itself become faster! Did its trainer have something to do with it?
"Get ready for battle, Scyther!"
Hearing my order, Scyther immediately turned its attention back to the Starly. It had battled with its trainer before, so it knew that he had some good planning. All it has to do is follow the orders.
"Starly, use quick attack!" Razor pointed and Starly dove down from the sky.
"Scyther, dodge! Then, use false swipe!" With its new speed, Scyther dodged easily to the side. It then slashed its scythes at the bird.
"Starly, speed up and use wing attack!" To deter Scyther, Starly did a flip mid-air and used wing attack.
Singgg!!
Scyther easily dodged the wing attack, even without my order. It then continued its false swipe and damaged Starly.
"Starly~!!" The two Scythes damaged Starly's wing badly and it fell onto the floor.
"Scyther, use quick attack!" I ordered. In addition to its boosted speed and Starly's wounded wing, this was a sure hit!
"Return, Starly!" Razor gritted his teeth and recalled Starly.
"That Scyther was fast!"
"I still feel that Ms. Shopie's Scyther is fast, though."
The kids commented. The battle ended very quickly, and Scyther was very fast. However, they couldn't tell if it's faster, or if the gym's Scyther is faster.
