And Then There Was Light

The lights flickered back to life as Jynx stepped out of the bathroom. At least Jessie assumed it was Jynx. She looked like a different woman.

The sophisticated socialite had disappeared. Beneath the makeup, a plain girl with a spotty complexion resided. With brilliant blue contacts removed, dull hazel eyes functioned but did little to enhance her looks. Without lip liner and lipstick, the lips that had appeared full and luscious were thinner. The button nose looked out of place on the narrow, angular face. Her hair was pulled back in a ponytail that exposed her large forehead, and her eyebrows were uneven. Just a hit of dark roots marred the perfection of her blonde dye job.

From somewhere, Jynx had retrieved a pair of wire-rimmed glasses. The girl slumped into herself within the oversized shirt, her curvy figure all but hidden.
