A Clubbing at the Club

The club was hopping by the time Min Jun went downstairs to relieve the manager on duty. The man had a pregnant girlfriend, and the closer the time grew to the due date, the more anxious the father-to-be became about leaving her alone. MJ didn't mind covering for the man, though. He knew the care he took with his staff would be returned one hundredfold in increased long-term productivity and loyalty.

Min Jun knew his faith in people might be misplaced. For every good person in the world who would appreciate the efforts he took to make sure his staff was happy, well-paid, and cared for, a jaded person existed. That person would take his kindness as weakness or an underhanded ploy to take advantage of the people who worked for him. Min Jun couldn't be bothered by the latter type of person. He didn't need their toxicity in his world. He didn't need it almost as much as he did need this business with the Patron's resolved.
