Hong Gi handed the phone back to Steph.

"What do you make of that?" Steph asked.

"Maybe baby brother is growing up."

"That would be a refreshing change of pace."

Hong Gi nodded and pulled Steph onto his lap, the video game he had been playing left on pause.

"What about it, Steph? Will you give him the girl's number? No one could blame you if you decided against it."

"But, I think Luke is serious. He wants to pursue Lexy."

From a purely strategic standpoint, having Luke focused on his own love life would get him off hers. She could stop waiting for the other shoe to drop. On the other hand, how could she put Lexy on the spot like that?

Lexy had a boyfriend that she had been with for a long time. Introducing Luke to her would be a betrayal of sorts. Both because of her relationship status and because Luke was unpredictable at best.
