Lost Without Hong Gi

Steph followed Matt back to the office, regretting every step because it took her closer to facing the newest horror. She didn't know what was worse—facing it knowing Mr. Smith had already seen her humiliation or the fact someone had done this to her in the first place. For the life of her, she had no idea what she had done to earn such treatment, and that probably upset her above all else. At least if she knew her crime, maybe she could make it right.

Steph was not opposed to apologizing when she was in the wrong. Heck, there had been times when she had apologized simply to keep the peace. She would do it again if that meant all of this would go away and leave her in peace.

Matt pulled up short outside his office door. "Let me go in first." He nodded to Kimmy and Stella to watch Steph.

"You don't have to," Steph said. "I can take it. I should see the evidence anyway. Maybe it will prompt a memory of what might have started all this."
