Silky Smooth

Lexy smooth the red dress over her curves and added the studded heels Luke had insisted the needed even though she told him the shoes would likely come off before the end of the first dance. The stylist had slicked back her hair into something more befitting breakfast at Tiffany's than a fun night out with a friend.

She didn't even recognize her reflection in the mirror. Every imperfection had been scrubbed plucked, contoured, and airbrushed out of her skin. She felt more like a Barbie doll than a real girl. She'd never look so unbelievably beautiful even to her own eyes. Why did it make her sad? Was she not good enough as she was before?
