When Opportunity Avails

Tate's heart beat so fast and so hard, that he was afraid he would stroke out. This evening had turned out so much better than he had anticipated. He'd bullied Kim into coming to the club with him, hoping at best he might see Luke at a distance or have a chance to exchange a few words with him.

He could have died and gone to heaven when Luke pulled him on stage and sang to him. But he was so, so glad he didn't. If he had, he would have missed this moment.

Tate hadn't planned to put his arms around Luke. They had hit the dance floor as a group, and for a while, it remained like that, and life was good. Then Kim spotted a cutey giving him the flirt eye, and he danced off in that direction.

And then there were four. Only two of the four were more interested in each other than the group as a whole. The fairy princess and the club manager were dancing front to back. So that left Tate and Luke. Not that it was a hardship. Not at all.
