Mark carried Abi to her room while Lexy trailed after him. The deal was he would do the heavy lifting, and she would undress the inebriated woman and tuck her into bed. It should have been a piece of cake. After all, Abi had passed out and was dead to the world. Only she had this annoying way of coming to just long enough to be dangerous. With each glimmer of consciousness, Abi flopped over, kicked out, or threw an arm. Twice, Lexy found herself dodging blows unsuccessfully. The last time had paid off in a bruised cheek. That was going to hurt in the morning.

Lexy was tucking the blankets around Abi when Abi mumbled, "Mark and Lexy sitting in a tree, k-i-s-s-i-n-g." And then she was out again.

"No kissing," Lexy whispered back as she turned out the light and padded to the door. "Definitely no kissing."
