Walk the Dog

Even with the harness on Mikey, Lexy's arms ached after a few blocks of walking the mammoth creature.

"You know, he could eat us all and still be hungry, right?" She said to Mark.

"I know, but he'd do it with love."

"And why am I walking your dog?"

"Um, because you will miss him?"

In two days, she had fallen in love with the beast. He slept in her room now on the rug beside her bed.

"I'd die without him."

"I'm jealous."

"Why is that?"

"Because I want to sleep beside you too."

"If you can talk Mikey into sharing the rug, you can."

"Um, I was thinking more like on the bed with you."

"We don't know each other well enough for that little endeavor."

"You live in my house. Eat my food. Steal my dog's heart. That should afford me some familiarity."
