With an unbelievable look on her face, Beth curled up and retreated to the corner of the bed. Baron was at a loss.
It turned out that Louis wasn't her daughter's boyfriend...
A tinge of guilt appeared on Baron's face, but he still put his daughter first. He wanted to comfort her, but Beth had been resisting his hand.
Seeing this, Wendy Cassia hurried forward and looked at Beth. When she saw Wendy, Beth's eyes turned friendly.
"She doesn't like men now. Let me comfort her. You go out first."
Her voice was soft. Baron looked at his shivering daughter and nodded. "Okay, I'll go out."
Wendy nodded at Louis as a sign of reassurance. Seeing her affirmative eyes, Louis turned around and closed the door.
